Well, only one person outside Hasbro has seen it, and that's because (and now we have to skate carefully around the whole subject lest we are summarily deleted) it hasn't been revealed or released as yet.

Nope. It hasn't come out yet. Probably not out til next year (2022).

Why would it be cancelled? It is a primarily online-order item which Hasbro has not addressed in any press release. Ergo:

 

It could show up any day, as people here with the knowledge have said it arrived in US ports over a month ago

 

Seems like this one should be called “Streak” instead of “Silverstreak”. With the MPs, Bluestreak is the blue one (Diaclone deco) Silverstreak is the silver one (original G1 toy deco), and Streak is the silver one with the black hood (cartoon deco).

 

Streak's his Japanese name.

He's generally Bluestreak over this way, but when they haven't been able to secure the rights on the name he was switched to Silverstreak.

 

Yes, I realize that. The TT MPs are Japanese. My point is that if they’ve managed to give the silver/black character his original name (“Bluestreak”) through licensing, then the blue Diaclone character should inherit the name “Streak” rather than “Silverstreak”.

 

But, they're the same character? Blue Bluestreak isn't his own person, he's just Bluestreak in the Diaclone colours.

Except for when he's pulling double-duty as SG Bluestreak

 

In the Masterpiece line, he’s a different character.

 

He was. A later bio made it Streak, which is boring. I choose to ignore it and prefer him as a new character.

 

Several dudes in my country already peddling with the loose/stolen copies a month or two back.

It's very likely the inverse of the Silversteak-era that started in Alternators, etc. when they couldn't secure Bluestreak.

Now they've got Bluestreak back, but they don't want to lose the rights to Silverstreak, so they've gotta use it somewhere to keep it. Better to use it on the obscure deco than the original 84 character.

Whatever— it is what it is, and anyone understanding the history gets it. The silver one is “blue” and the blue one is “silver”. But if I were a six-year old just being introduced to these toys, I would think the adults in charge were idiots.
