So he looks... pretty perfect to me. At least in terms of size. Taller than Soundwave but a smidge shorter than Optimus is how I'd like my modern Blaster, so I'm really glad to see that's where they ended up too.

 

I'd prefer solid blue plastic as well, but it won't prevent me from picking him up.

I gotcha, thanks for the rundown. It was the concern of cross-compatibility of the cassettes that made me lean more towards a retool of Blaster - but knowing that they're already compatible alleviates that. As long as a G1 Soundwave happens at retail, I'll be satisfied. And hopefully it and that upcoming Ironhide will set a precedent for other figures that deserve repacks/new versions, like Bumblebee and Prowl.

Me to. I hope they would do every cassettes. But I might be the only one that want more mercenary cassettes for Double Dealer.

 

They should do a four pack with Rewind,Ramhorn and Steeljaw but with some one else.
Because would it make more sense to have Rosanna to be release with Twincast because she was originally a Japanese release figure, same as Twincast?

 

Can't really tell from the pictures but the spring between the buttons and the tape door is pretty visible.

Edit: Also note that that is as far as Blaster's door opens.

 

Honestly, Hasbro knocked it out of the park with this one.  

Kind of a random thought, but I wonder if Hasbro would ever do a special version with actual Bluetooth speakers built into the legs so you can play music out of it.

 

Blaster looks cool but Im going to wait for a Twincast because I have a Soundblaster to pair against.

 

I wouldn't be surprised if a customizer tried this.

For clarification: There WAS a set of Legacy store listings from some online store that had Soundwave named as "Prime", BUT that was like the second set of Legacy store listings we got (we got all the Target ones first, which had Soundwave and Galvatron as simply "Pr"), and it also had Galvatron similarly labeled "Prime", and with every other store's listings found before and after having both of them as "Pr" (the code that's always used for Package Refresh/repacks), it's most likely that whoever was inputing the listings in that particular store's system for the product numbers simply misunderstood "Pr" to stand for "Prime".

 

Since this was “street dated”, IIRC for Beginning of january, is it possible more stores actually have these or will shortly have these sitting in the back?

Nah. Stores stock the assortment cases. Those are the same product number as the previous waves. Those are stocked as they arrive.

 

Wasn't there some reports before that there are some solid cases for Tigatron, and another case assortment of Tigatron and Blaster?
