I don't think any of us were expecting SS86 levels of engineering but I do think we did have a core (heh) idea of what to reasonably expect. All things considered a traditional Hot Rod design is arguably one of the easiest to design for and yet this new core class seems to be overcompensating just because it can.
Looks fantastic. Totally gonna be my "Micromaster Hot Rod" to go with Star Convoy (presently using the Rodimus Prime Titan Master, which scales better but whatever). On the topic of Core, Hasbro explained straight up their role in the Kingdom Reveal over a year ago. Explicitly they're the "transition" for kids between Cyberverse and Generations. Hasbro saw there was a character gap in moving people from one to the other, so they revived the old Legends concept asically. Implicitly they are an affordable $10.99 price point figure as Deluxe has moved from $15 to $18 to $20 and now $22. It's assumed that interaction with Titans is part of it, but that's never been confirmed (but it's clear, they work fine with them). I think though that compared to Generations, Hasbro is casting a wider net with them. We saw Core Class Bumblebee, who was a Kingdom figure (even with the package) in all but name, in Buzzworthy. That Studio Series Bumblebee Movie Core class Shockwave? That's gonna be your Core class Shockwave... my gut tells me we shouldn't expect another (personally, I'd use the old Legends class one).
I liked thar combiner wars hot rod we got a few years ago despite the fact it didn't really have a spoiler. That was a good figure and that reminds me a blackjack update would be cool too.
These are CG renders, not photos. Renders rarely feature mistransformations since there's no intern handed a toy he's never seen before and asked to figure out the transformation.
you know your still going buy it no need complain about toy product pictures on package no one going to jail for mistransformed toys you want perfect toy transformed buy toy do it yourself complain over dumb small detail not hurting anyone means nothing except for perfectionist people on this site first word in toy news is mistransformed give it break., Toy mistransformed
Looks fine for a Core figure actually. An interesting design for Hor Rod. I find the sword more questionable because, while is an appropriate weapon for Hot Rod, I thought it was going to be translucent to fit with the rest of the Legacy weapons.
I think it does, not really sure where the extra leg piece goes because otherwise it's pretty easy to see where everything ends up. ....after closer inspection, it looks like the extra piece on the left is a folded up windshield...am I crazy? .... Uhoh ....just noticed the engines disappears in bot mode. There's some magic here.
I think I like it! was hoping it would kinda have that battle stars micro masters vibe to it but honestly this works! Will look good next to GS star convoy
I’d rather have a core class override, freeway, or pretender shell. Core hot rod does nothing for me.
So many characters they could make in this size class and they choose to remake a character for the thousandth time that isn't even this size. I swear one day every line will just be 90% Bumblebee 10% Optimus (with every mold being released 7 times in sliiightly different colors, of course). I'm sorry for being so heated about this, but I really do think this is a negative trend that's getting worse.
