Honestly I highly doubt much would happen if Raiden was still coming out under Zeta proper. MP-44 was "up against" two MP toon Primes ranging from a third to a fifth of it's price and it still sold really well, and the official Raiden thread is over 2 times the length of this one with only 1 bot and a silhouette out while we've seen Zeta's entire team.

Only reason the Unicron thing happened was because Haslab Unicron was a fundraiser that needed an extension and Hasbro didn't want any chances, hence why when it was funded, Hasbro no longer cared and Zeta is on their 3rd Unicron run. Moon Studio's simply a precaution.

Zeta toys probably got annoyed after the official TT anouncement of the trainbots that they had to come up with another dumby company lol

I'm wondering if they might be doing the opposite of what Cang did, getting all 6 to this stage to confirm the combiner before releasing instead of releasing each figure as they are all done and hoping for the best at the end. If that is the case then we will have to wait longer since the arms aren't to this stage yet.

Yeah, but Zeta announced their Raiden way before Takara ever did... when it comes to Unicron they were just being idiots, but Raiden is just...very poor timing. :D

Simply put, I think it looks horribly proportioned is the reason. One look at Iron Arm's alt mode and you confirm they made compromises with this set and for the right reasons. Even TT's Kaen did not match the real world train model. I think color choices are wrong here and there with the yellow eyes for the initial bots and with Shouki but having the ridiculously wide calves isn't something preferable. The transition from the toy to the toon across all Transformers for the most part worked out with transformations and animation being possible with alt and bot mode but some just never made sense or really worked like Groove or some of these trainbots. That kibble has to go somewhere and a part cannot be two different colors or purposes. The initial G1 toy looked awful and the TT MPG version suffers from trying to recreate that accuracy. The cheating drawing for that figure made the calves look half the size they really are. MP transformations faked that issue on something like Motormaster's feet but not here with the whole side of the train.

I would agree with you that I always hammer like you for G1 accuracy. I think most of us here don't have the same level of affinity or connection to Raiden like we do the earlier stuff where this is more an issue and Groove is not a place for compromise. A compromise I would not have had a problem with is as you suggest the ability to get the look anyway but I don't know if the engineering in this case was easily possible.

I am reading into a lot of this too but maybe for slightly different reasons. I think they have the prototypes done so they know the combiners works at this end stage. My bet is the arms are to this stage and we will know that when they are close to ready to release all at once. I think it may be more legal issue now that TT has put up their first bot for preorder that they may be thinking of doing a pseudo set release with getting them all done and out in a very short window so they don't incur legal issues that stop completion. My guess is the packaging was already done or this may have been a boxed set (might still be if not for the preorders). TT lost interest in Unicron issues because Haslab got fully funded so their money was guaranteed. There is nothing guaranteed about this being direct (in my opinion much better) competition at half the price and the competition in this case is going to strike first and finish before TT ever gets out a single figure likely.

Shouki looks much better now in the light. Idk how bright that is to make it look white tho.. lol

I am concerned about how big Kaen is, are they going back to the old TFC style bot hips are combiner hips?? How stable is this thing going to be? Zeta bots are light but still way heavier combined than a TFC combiner and those quickly become a floppy mess or A-stance only...

...will Kaen be the same size as XTB Magnus or bigger?

My expectation on Shouki's color (assuming nothing changes from what we have seen) is that it will be a similar white to GT J4zz. I've seen it look silver under some lights, but it is definitely white.

It's that pearlescent color and it is definitely going to look silver in black non reflecting light but you can tell in shades of light what you are confirming.

If I was Zeta, I would go right from this into simultaneously Road Caesar and Liokaiser followed up with Landcross. Long ago they had to abandon their Stunticons but I don't think that got past artwork.

Have they shown artwork for those three before or just wishful thinking on your part?

No, I thought it was pretty clear with "If I was Zeta."

You mentioned their Stunticons not getting past artwork so I thought you were saying the others did.

I like how everything is fight on these boards.

"..um actually I think you'll find everything is not a fight, I am just clarifying that the error was not with my communication the error is in fact thiers. It's important to highlight an error has been made and it is clear it's not my error, so Important that the error is now the focus of our conversation. Which is definately not my error, just to be clear."

Are you referring to me? I wasn't trying to start a fight, just clarifying that I misinterpreted what they said through no fault of their own.

I think people are forgetting that this TT train set has a corporate sponsor and companies don't like when sponsors get messed with.

It seems to me that they corrected the cockpit windows on Shouki to be angular instead of round. Or am I remembering that "issue" from one of the other train bots?
