Another future Legacy figure revealed. I await pictures of Skywarp and Iguanus. Hot Rod looks a bit weird in that photo, but I’m not going to fully judge until I see pictures of him in hand.

They're really dedicated to using faux parts whenever possible post-Siege I guess. It's gotten to the point where people were praising Origins Bumblebee for having his chest become part of the vehicle mode like how have we gotten to this point

 

My personal hope for new Micromasters in core class would be Boater and Pipo to finish out the Rescue Patrol to go with Victory Saber. New cassettes would be rad, too!

 

I can see it being a butt head, so to speak. Head fold back like Soundwave, arms together. But I don’t get the feet/legs.

 

This is gonna look so good with my Gen selects Star Convoy or MMC Stellarus! I just wanted a smol hot rod

 

It looks fine, but the only reason I'll get it is because I'm a weirdo who has a Hot Rod shrine. For the most part, I just really don't care that much about the core class figures. I've only bought a handful of them so far, and I could happily live without most of them.

 

I'll reserve proper judgement until we get a non-blurry image.. but this is about what I expected.

Guess it is time to sell that CW Hot Rod... Sword is a strange weapon for him, but looks great otherwise. Weird though, so Wave 5 is gonna have this? Legacy must be starting later than we thought.

Given that since Earthrise we have gotten Minibots as Deluxes - Cliffjumper, Bumblebee, Hubcap, Warpath, Huffer, Pipes - I think Core will be reserved for small sized regular characters to use with Titans.

It’s a core class. I don’t expect the same things I would from a deluxe class toy. But this core class toy looks better to me than all the Cyberverse Hot Rod toys.

 

I think the sword is a reference to Regeneration One where he had to choose between a sword (offensive) or a shield (defensive).

I wouldn’t mind core class single release Micromasters even if they wouldn’t be Micromasters anymore. It would take ages for Hasbro to release a full patrol at core class if they did start doing so though.

Pipo is how the Japanese pronounce the ambulance siren sound.

I’ll wait for higher res photos but he does seem a bit odd compared to the designs of previous G1 cores, imo. That could simply be due Hot Rod’s design being less boxy than the S1 guys, who knows.

 

I think it's the commitment to accuracy to Floro Dery's popped collar & size shift as well as angles & proportions shenanigans in the robot mode chest, no way is the core per figure budget going to cover the necessary engineering to do it from the actual bonnet & engine block.

 

Maybe a WFC deluxe style Hot Rod I would get, but I don't really need a Core Class version. I don't think it looks terrible for a Core though.

 

Hmm...I think I might wanna see this reworked into a Scamper for Metroplex.
