I sent TF-Direct my request to cancel the order. This sucks. We all waited so damn long for this to come out and it ends up being a sub-par reissue. Kinda like Capone... I waited over a year for that too and it showed up broken for me and at least a couple other people.

Between package thefts, broken bots right out of the box and missing pieces i'm quickly getting really bummed out with collecting. :(

I know this doesn't help but may point you in the right direction if you decide to try. There are screws that hold the arm on and somewhat together so the repair starts easy then its pinned getting tougher. It could be as easy as take out the screw from the butterfly joint holding the arm/shoulder on, then take the little screw out of the arm to get it apart (the hole above where the white line stops in the pic) and get it torn down so the head of the pin is accessible because maybe the pin might need to be pressed I. A little further to added tension. This happens very frequently in assembly and I have had to further press pins on many of my bots to achieve better fit.

I ended up removing the whole arm and press fitting the pin into the ratchet deeper and that has made it 98% the way it should be. Thanks for your input @MV Steve. Do you have a way to make the barrel a bit tighter and not so floppy?

My IT Megatron snapped at the hip when I was transforming him back to Robot mode. RIP I'm just going to wait for Takara to reissue Megatron..

As a matter of fact yes, but its gonna require some real patience to do what I did:
    20211202_001940.jpg

On a separate note this happened:
    20211202_002224.jpg

So the hot water trick didn't work because it turns out it was glued, A LOT! There's only so much hot water can do and when it broke I could see the residue of glue all around the edge. Megatron wasn't havin' it!
    20211201_233959.jpg

So I ended up having to drill it out and it took the better part of the evening because I really wanted to salvage the pin to fix the part so I drilled a fine hole followed with more hot water, nothin! I tried blasting compressed air in the hole trying to get the piece to blow out, nothin! I took pliers and without damaging the outside I squeezed enough to flex. The plastic which I could then see separating between the two so I repeated the earlier steps and, nothin! Fuck it! Drill it all! Its 4mm so I used a 9/64 bit which left about .014" around the side and what a bitch it was to get it out! They actually glued the whole thing in, what morons! So I now have the posable chain usable and that's all I wanted but I'm thinking of reporting this to ShowZ for new parts all together. Although the piece looks ok, it is foggy from the repeated hot water attempts and I can't wipe out the inside as well as some super light marks from the pliers, they really are hard to see or feel but.........

    Definitely ask for more parts.

At this point I'm beginning to wonder if I should request parts even on the problematic parts that haven't broken yet because it's probably only a matter of time until they will and this might be the only time parts are available for a year or longer. This batch is just riddled with problems top to bottom.

One thing i'll give TF-Direct is they are one of the few stores that will give cash refunds. I got my refund a bit earlier and it's a weight off my shoulders not having to deal with any potential problems with this thing. Thankfully I have my KO already but I might just go official TT Megs if I want another one. With as much as I paid for my KO I should've just bought the official to begin with. BTW, my KO Megatron was my first or second transformer I ever bought and mistakes were made lol...

Or, maybe if I can find Dynastron i'll go with that instead.

Yeah I'm gonna request parts on things that are commonly breaking. I've been lucky that my actual figure seems to be without issue, but he won't be transformed again anytime soon. Stuff like the mace chain being glued is a huge bummer.

I’ve ordered mine from Taobao alongside DS01. Let’s see how my luck is.

I figured it was glued! I see it on mine too sticking to the sides in the peg hole. WTF!?!?!?! Like why would they do that?

God i'm glad I cancelled my order because this in inexcusable. If ShowZ is putting up that warning they must be getting lots of reports of broken hip skirts and requests for replacement parts... :redface2:

God what an embarrassment. And we can't even get refunds for this garbage. What's really heartbreaking is that I don't think getting replacement parts will be the end of it. It will likely have the same awful QC as the rest. And I'll definitely apply silicone this time, assuming I'm even able to take it apart and put it back together. But I get the sinking feeling now that it's on borrowed time.

I'm not sure if the MP-36 mold has the issue across the board but on my copy if I partially open one side like at a 45 degree angle and then try to open the other side there is interference in the center where the two parts meet. My guess is that the pivot/pin holes are drilled in a spot that makes the inside edge stick out slightly further while it swings open. I'm not personally considering this issue a QC problem because it's not negatively effecting anything and there's tons of steps with transformers that have to be fully done before going to the next so this is one of those things now.

Btw, in the pic of it broken, the hip skirt being held loose is not the problem. What is everyone's problem and what I was describing is the full hip halves moving for transformation. So if someone looks at that pic I think they will be thinking it's the small skirt so it's a bit uninformative. I'm sure that piece in the pic was cracked from trying to transform him and move the full hip panel.

The shock oil I ordered got lost in the mail, but I guess it doesn't matter because they basically tell us not to transform him, haha. Wow what a disaster.

Well the good news is I was able to fold them without snapping them doing it one at a time. So far so good...

Scratch that. It broke WHILE transformed. What a piece of shit.

UPDATE: Nevermind I spoke too soon. I reversed it back and looked and only one of the skirt things popped off but it wasn't held in with a pin so it just popped off. I put it back on and it's fine. Transformation complete but that honestly took me like an hour.

Yeah, and because I saw other people having problems before I attempted transformation, I squeezed silicone grease in the gap before hand and held the pieces close to the hinge so leverage wouldn't screw me and it just moved like normal and got super easy once it rotated through the grease.
Sucks the shock oil got lost but just get anything silicone and you'll be good and once it's in there it will be worry free.

I went to ShowZ for the hell of it and looked at their warning and also saw this right above their warning picture...
So how many months or years will that be? I'm so glad I had time to cancel before I was stuck with it.

Thought I managed to transform him unscathed but looks like I managed to scuff the EXTREMELY thick paint. No worries though, I ordered a gunmetal Gundam marker. I struggled a lot with the leg on that side so it makes sense
