When we've got amazing releases like Core Megs, Prime, Screamer, Rattrap and Soundwave - Ol Roddy is definitely a disappointment.
Definitely pretty decent looking for the price. A bit messier than I had hoped, but it's core class, not shocking. We really did get spoiled with SS86 Hot Rod and Kingdom Rodimus. There's not a whole lot of room for improvement with that general design anymore, so that's part of why I'm willing to give this guy plenty of wiggle room. It's a LOT to live up to at this point. Love the sword though. Definitely want to see better images to get a better feel for him, but I'm still likely to grab him.
Yes I want a Commander Grandus, finally a city bot that's not a Titan. I hate that scale, it simplifys the engineering too much, people seem to be oblivious to that.
Tbh, Optimus and Megs are only okay, and Starscream is very seriously lacking in the colors area, considering he's 100% gray plastic. Soundwave is pretty good, but Rattrap and Vertebreak are the only two from core class so far that are genuinely really good. This Hot Rod looks at least as good as Starscream. Fun little mold but lacking paint
This may be worth it just for that sweet looking sword alone. Toss the figure and I\'ll use the sword with another bot.
That looks better than I thought it would, though I wish they'd go back to giving us 2 Micromasters at this price point than tiny toys of figures we already have. They didn't remotely finish with the Micromasters before moving on...
The sword and the figure does look amasing thats for shure , but also wants me to have a upscale vertion of him with the sword
Really feel like they overthought this one in a bad way. Looks like the windshield and car hood splits and folds up onto the back of the legs. If they hadn’t cheated the chest he wouldn’t have so much crap on his legs, plus a blockier chest probably would have helped this one’s proportions - the fake chest is shaped really odd
Yeah, the faux chest is a poor choice in my opinion in this case, think he would've been better served as basically just being a more posable but smaller version of the G1 toy
But then people would've complained about the smaller vehicle mode. And while an all-in-one Rodimus would've probably been a Leader instead of a commander, can you imagine the absolute fucking shit show that would've happened if Rodimus was the same size as he is now...just without the trailer (and all the value that shitty box adds lmao) Would've made the shit show we did get over him look tame in comparison.
Yikes, the legs. Going to pass on this one although already looks a lot better than cyberverse deluxe hot rod.
