Had these been Takara's original releases and they came out around the same time the local versions did, I then might have opted to get any of these premium figures. I just don't see enough appeal now.

 

Looks nice, but not "$20 more" nice. It doesn't help that some stuff seems to have been left unpainted in vehicle mode, which means they didn't give the back of robot mode any attention either.

 

Yeah, I know, but we are getting a lot of images. Especially for a line that costs too much and has an almost unanimous negative response before its even out. Just saying.

That whole SS BBM Prime mold does also because it's literally based on a Live-Action G1 Prime design.

 

I have the first one and love it. This time they have fixed everything that bugged me the first time around.
White strip to break up the silver, silver face plate with grey around the eyes, and Autobot logos on the shoulders. Everything else they painted is a bonus for me. If he comes in as good as pictured and no QC I'll pass off my old SS BM prime

 

I had the original SS Prime as well and it's great I customized it but I sold it off both cause I somewhat assumed a ROTB version would happen next year since the designs are basically the same with minor differences and a grill guard in alt mode, and I knew I had this version as well and have more paint that was a bit more movie accurate...so I'm gonna get this version even if some paint is missing from the prototype shown. Since I need a BBM Prime for my self especially with the other BBM SS figures coming next year.

Yes but that was definitely a stolen production copy off the assembly line.

 

20$ more for what they have done is a steal. An extra hours worth of work for sure.

TakaraTomy only charges about 5 dollars more for these, compared to their regular mainline deluxe and voyager prices...
