Only had about 5 min with him before heading in to work but I dig him a lot. The arm colors looks much better in person (@Grifter Prime he's honestly beautiful thanks for the hard work on the colors) and he feels damn solid. The joint tolerances and solid enough to pass a shake test but smooth and move easily without feeling like it's going to break.

This is the direction XTB needs to move in. If Virtus and Jansen follow Jocund's lead I'll be very impressed.

Much appreciated, I used to teach art and have been through art school, color is a difficult thing to nail down and I think you're doing a great job!

Just got Jocund in today and I am much happier with him than Fuzz. Seems a lot more sturdy and the shoulders are good. And while i'm still not a fan of the arm color it's a lot less distracting than in some of the pictures. I will say though that if they made a version with metallic silver arms i'd buy another one.

    Good job, XTB.

Not sure if I'm going in on this set, but I love Groove so I wanted to pick this guy up. Initial impressions of the bot mode are very positive. The paint on this thing is absolutely gorgeous. We'll see how I feel once I transform him.

(sorry about the dust on his shoulder - didn't see it until after I took the photos)

received my Jocund today, and... He's alright, isn't he? I am not exactly blown away, but he feels solid enough and you can get some decent posing out of him. He does strike that nice balance of being both toon accurate combined real world sensibilities with technical detail.

The main problem I have with him (beyond the odd Autobot insignia placement) is that he is tiny. Especially when compared to other combiners boys like Fanstoys Dragstrip and MMC Swindle. It's not a deal-breaker for me, since he will become a Defensor leg once the team is complete, but I really hoped he wasn't carbot-sized. This will be especially egregious when the Ironhide sized First Aid comes out...

I am buying the MMC Protectobots to display them as individuals, hopefully they will be the same size as their Combaticons.

Included are the traditional weighing photo's, and I was surprised to see that he is heavier than Fuzz/Streetwise (who is never leaving his alt-mode, FYI).

I'm sure these were made to be in scale with their Stunticons. I'm playing the waiting game and see which set looks the best overall.

I have said many times before, I don't think anyone can make a tall Groove, not mention to be seeker height.
So I'm perfectly fine with a car bot size height.
But I don't get why xtb streetwise and groove have such minor height different, they can either be on the same car bot height or streetwise being seeker height as their first aid.

Which Combaticon? They're all different heights. That said.....

    image_3d281405-1258-400a-93e4-4200c95e1c07_large.jpg

Unlikely he'll be taller than First Aid, who is slightly shorter than the shortest Combaticon in Swindle:

Which would put him around a head taller than xtb Groove. Roughly.

They most definitely are made in scale with their Stunticons, which is why I skipped on them and went for Fanstoys, it's just a shame that I have no such choice when it comes to the Protectobots. Fortunately it's only Defensor that I am after.

Because the height differences between the MMC Combaticons (with Brawl being the exception) are minimal. With XTB we already got a short Streetwise, an even shorter Groove and eventually a First Aid (and possibly Blades) who will tower over them.

I do not need all four limb bots to be exactly the same size, but I would like them to be roughly the same, like the MMC Combaticons.

I am thinking it is due to -how- they transform to turn into a leg, because it's basically both of them in alt-modes with their fronts folded down in a particular matter. Both of them will have to be the same height in leg-mode in order to fill the gaps of the Defensor skeleton. I could be entirely wrong with this, it could also be just a cosmetic choice by the designer.

Google search shows they're all the same size. So that means they're all smaller than Swindle.

Also minimal? Blast Off is a full head taller than Swindle and Vortex whilst Brawl is a full head taller than Blast Off. Not sure why MMC get a pass here if it's not good with XTB but your shelves I guess.

Personally the varying heights looks fantastic to me. With both MMC Combaticons and xtb Protectobots. Suits a team like these.

Stunticons and Aerialbots not so much considering their alts.
