my current exchange with Sonner Toys is excruciating! Decided to cancel on SG Prime and Ratchet as they're clearly never coming. It's been way over 6 months now so a little nervy, but Sonner are (just about) reputable enough for me to not be too worried, yet.

1st Nov - Emailed them to cancel.
wait 5 days, nothing.
Emailed again.
wait 6 days, got a reply saying its been processed for me.
wait 4 days, no sign of refund.
I emailed to get an update.
wait 8 days! get a reply saying paypal gateway closed, confirm my paypal add
I replied to them within 1 hour!
wait 6 days, get a reply saying this will be actioned for me.
That was monday. Obviously no sign of refund/cancellation!

may give them a day or so more, then im gonna get a bit shouty!

 

The universe never truly appreciated just how much fun that show was. Or just how banging that theme is.

I could say a lot about IDW - but I won't what I will say is this.

I like Iron Factory toys - but when I saw the Iron Factory Pipes I thought "They really did the character a dis-service" here,
So if a change of company leads to a bunch of new pre-earth/Cybertronian redesigns I won't mind that at all as IDW went some very strange places over the years - the kinda strange places that if you tell someone about it - they think you are making it up.

A reset to factory settings would be welcome at this point - but only with it being in the right hands - and without to much Hasbro's "helping" - since it was partly their interfearance that was involved in that shared continuity thing that fell flat on its face.

It's why I keep saying that one should keep Hasbro the hell away from Micronauts and keep the brand the hell away from the Marvel Comics and instead simply develop a new brand based on it (like Microman 99 was) that they can share between them.

As Takara would make something over priced and fragile only 50 year olds would buy.& Hasbro would be unable to make a cross play pattern line without screwing it up. but together I think they might manage - if they take 2000's Super Microman as their inspiration with some small sprinkles of Vintage Micronauts/Microman.

The potential is huge - but so is the potential to make utter trash. Hasbro has kinda proven if they do a reboot that works it's more by accident or by someone elses efforts than their own.... so Cyberverse - almost works as a show, but as a toyline it has a lot of problems.

Full on panic stations at HasLab then! They have pulled a Rancor keeper figure out of thin air to be an additional bonus item at 9000 backers. It's not as if they can claim this was "all part of the plan" because they don't even have any digital mock ups to show off.

They have, of course, broken the entire HasLab project with this move. Going forward the smart investors will wait until the very last minute before signing up, in the hopes of getting extra stuff thrown in.

I guess a Star Wars project failing was deemed unacceptable?

 

I have actually done about half of v5? I think? But I'll finish them in the new year and grab orders then. No way I'm gonna run it concurrently with the calendar. Did that one year and OMG what a ballache. I know for sure I redid v3's Gnaw card, the original has a mistake on his function! IIRC I was gonna give that away for free with v5 orders but I dunno if that'll happen now with the hike in paper prices. Thanks Brexshit!

Re: Haslab Rancor... wowzers. I knew the numbers were low but it hasn't even reached half? And forget the tiers! What does this indicate? I wonder what happens if it DOESN'T fund... the Hasbro Prototype becomes a new missile firing Boba Fett? KO's slowly leak from the factory?

I guess we should consider ourselves lucky Star Saber was fully funded?

 

It seems that the "unreleased" figure circled above Primal is an early concept Ractonite.

Otherwise, yep, a Megacat, a proto-crocodile/alligator (who looking at the relative size coulda been a Core like Vertebreak), Polar Claw, and Gears apparently got dropped pre-production.

 

I wonder if we’ll see more cancelled toys and easy repaints coming in order to fill the potential gap from Hasbro having to put the new film toys back?

Hasbro’s Micronauts movie has been stuck in development hell for a few years and I’m fucking glad - it was going to be a rip off of Small Soldiers but with Micronauts. Generic modern cgi animation, aimed at younger children…the horror…the horror…

Yeah, I normally do, basically everything gets printed to order, so when v5 is up for order I'll take orders for the earlier sets as well.

And (hehe) nobody has ever complained about the cards yet, because (hehe) they are very nice (he says oh so very modestly)

Funny you should use the word 'big'... v5 is citybots (Metroplex, Trypticon), combined robots (Superion, Menasor) and Headmasters/Targetmasters (Fort Max, Sureshot). And actually looking at it I'm a less along than I thought... better crack on.

 

What would you guys reckon is a good price to pay for a POTP nemesis prime? Eyeing up one on over on eBay just now.

A small miracle this morning - Sonner has issued my refund. Only took month pestering them on email, twitter and facebook.
It hasn't got as far as reaching my bank account, but even small progress is still progress.

Between this and experiences from a lot of others here, I don't think I want to even risk in stock items with them, let a line preorders, so I'll be only using them for in stock in store stuff.
