OK, going slow on this one.

Legends world Bludgeon is an awesome design! It sucks he was never made into a toy, though.
So time to make my own. Base is Hardhead, because of course it is.

Things are progressing slowly, but they're coming along well. The classic "sand and paint" technique isn't failing me here. I haven't painted the actual headmaster (Whom I'm referring to as Metallikato) but I think I'll only paint the face and the torso seeing as the limbs are the same green as Hardhead's.

very cool! glad the face was of use! The person who commissioned it from me got it to make a Bludgeon as well, but I made his version of the design with the facial slits and nose built-in. I decided to upload the default head for public consumption, though, and I'm glad it printed well!

Eventually I'm going to make my own, as well, but I'm going to use a full Blurr/Breakaway head instead of just putting the faceplate on Quake's Titanmaster.

 

Naturally - always good to make a reproduction when you have the option!

 

That faceplate is amazing. Loving that shade of mustard yellow too.

 

Thanks - protip, it's Tamiya gloss lemon yellow with the tiniest amount of Tamiya flat black in it.

The slits for his spooky scary skeleton skull teeth were just made very carefully with a hobby knife, by the way.

 

I love that you are using a headmaster for a pretender character, since they came in around the same time. Always hated the pretenders gimmick, but this works, especially since the original inner bot was a tank.

 

I think I'm having deja vu. Someone also did this a couple of years ago right?

I'm tempted to use the Quintus Prime Bludegon armour I've got to hold the headmaster.

I think it's coming along... not awfully. Yellow gloss is a pain in the arse to work with though, so I'm super scared that the paint is drowning out the details.

I think I'm most proud of Metallikato. He looks so perfectly like Bludgeon's inner robot now.

 

Were any of these made as Legends figures or were they just missed opportunities?

 

Other than Magna Convoy, none of them were released in Legends.
NONE.
Deadlock (pictured being fed a bunch of cigarettes, apparently) was an eHobby exclusive in Generations, Croc Megatron/Megalligator's head (and ONLY his head) was released with Convobat, Green Megatron feat. Cape up there was actually Hunter Ratchet from Transformers Go, Burning Sentinel never appeared in plastic and G2 colour Jhiaxus was criminally never produced or even thought of.

it could've been gen selects but hastak almost never gives us what we want, like siege wheeljack, a proper g2 megs, legacy optimus that doesn't have ER optimus legs, beast wars transmetals, beast wars masterpieces, more mpm figures, studio series age of extinction/ the last knight figures, studio series skids and mudflap, at least one modern SS figure that doesn't rely heavily on clear plastic and paint, a voyager that isn't priced as a leader/ commander, a legends figure that's not the price of a deluxe and isn't a partsformer, a modern arcee that doesn't have a giant backpack, a unicron that's movie accurate and not an overpriced shellformer, tidal wave in modern titan class, and so much more that we've never gotten

 

.... yet.

  keep the faith mate, plenty of good toys on offer. And sure if we got everything we wanted, then we'd have nothing to pine after.

You do know there have been more than a few Masterpiece Beasties? I've only ever bought Primal, but he was a decent figure. Low-key keeping an eye out for a Leo Convoy too.
