I still believe in you work and in you. Like I said you have helped me have my dream Menasor. Still can’t wait for limbs.

So I'm still sore at how badly XTB phoned it in for Youth Wildrider compared to the initial renders. It's a nice figure, but they didn't even try to hide the corner cutting on the chest and shins, and just slapping a toy deco on top. Even with the new head I felt like G1 Wildrider should've had a mouth guard instead of a generic face, at least as a swappable option, so....

Thanks to the awesome work of @chchchch here's a digibash of what I felt Youth Wildrider should have been :D

A reminder of what we actually got:

Side-by-side, also with the initial render:

Now I can gawp at that all day and feel even more frustrated that we didn't get that.

They should have remolded the shins to match the render. I am fine with the chest and the head though.

I was looking at 3d printing some new shin addons. But there is no room. And I believe that's the reason they didn't remold the shins. There is almost no room for the shin to be any thicker than it is due to the way the leg transforms.

I still have mine displayed in alt mode. But plan to display them in bot mode at some point now that I have youth gravestone. I might make some new shins like the above. But the caveat is that they WILL have to be removed for transformation.

I can't help but see this version and see a bot wearing a silver apron.

I had posted a while back that used some leftover toyhax to simulate the look. I'm good with it. But as good as your decals are, you could probably make something that really pulled it off.

Some black on top of silver, similar to what you have there, might look pretty decent.

it is a shame about the headsculpt. I mean g1's was not really anything but the one XTB had planned was pretty cool.

Still loving mine. I have transformed it at least seven times from trailer to combined mode, no issues. I really enjoy the transformation now that I know how to do it properly, only takes about 20 mins for the whole set now

Man that Digi face is the shit !!
I'd buy that figure just for that awesome face sculpt !!
Even that charcoal is so much nicer than the gun metal of the official.

What went wrong from the early renders.. to official figure :/

Looks nice, I still need to order the shoulder pieces. Also, the inside of menasor’s back is a good place to store the parts you take off for the back plate.

I finally got around to fiddling with @jimmyh ’s shoulder upgrade kit. Still need to buckle them down properly but overall I’m very pleased. Like it better than I was expecting.

I had them tighter initially but then I broke one removing it. So I had to make the tabs smaller. I also thought about attaching them to the screw holes on the back. But then I thought someone eventually will grab those and lift monolith by them and that could be a disaster.

@jimmyh I really like what you are doing with the shells and I'm curious is it possible to give the wheels a lower profile without risking strength as they are the mounting points? I would think its possible because it's a lightweight shell rather a full bot, but I have zero experience with 3D printing and how much you could get away with. I'd love to machine them from aluminum since I know it could then be slimmed down a lot and once fully milled out as light as plastic but 10 times stronger. It would take forever to machine though.

they are connecting to the screw pegs on the legs and some large tabs on the shells. So they need to be substantial.

regardless, I wanted them big as I am looking to match the kind of goofy proportions of the cartoon model, wherein the wheels are rather large.

Sounds good! I figured this idea would be good but only having to make the wheel/mounts because I saw 1:32 slot cars which have a shell of a body and there are some in the model Ferrari and the Tyrrell P34 with the Lamborghini Countach and Porsche 928 proving to be a little harder to find but I had found them in model kits. I passed on them back then and wishing I didn't because the Lambo and Porsche are not available again.
