Unfortunately. Not sure why Shadow Panther couldn’t have been a Gen Selects, from what I understand he was a toy only character? I’m most likely wrong I just don’t remember seeing him in the show.

That being said, Arcee shouldn’t have been reissued in Kingdom. Wheeljack I get because he was in an early wave of ER and and a “core” character therefore more desirable theoretically. Arcee could have been given an SS86 release and given us a spot for Tarantulas from Blackarachnia. Or even Terrorsaur really, just without the golden disk.

It’s Inferno that’s a pain, then again they could have tacked him on with Tigatron since Blaster seems to be dragging his feet so to speak.

He wasn't. He was a toy-only character who I agree would have made more sense in Selects.

Shadow Panther wasn't a selects because based on everything leakers have said, his spot as a Cheetor partial was originally supposed to go to Tigatron during the conceptual phase of planning. When they decided to not do Polar Claw and make Tigatron a Voyager, there was a vacancy for a Cheetor partial in wave 4, thus Shadow Panther.

Yup. If Shadow Panther got moved to selects then we’d probably would have gotten a repack of an older mold or some other simple repaint.

Tarantulas from Blackarachnia would have been my guess. Beef up the arms and legs a bit and slap a new head sculpt on him.

Eh, personally I don't think Tarantulas from Blackarachnia would really work all that well since he was a good deal larger than Blackarachnia in build. Much like Cheetor/Tigatron, they shared a figure but their show models were very different (much more so in regards to the spiders). Terrorsaur isn't very show accurate, but a show accurate non partsforming figure of him isn't possible on a mainline deluxe or voyager budget. The same can't really be said for Tarantulas.

Complete fabrication. Shadow Panther and Ravage are 100% their own characters.

That’s true, but thinking of quick and dirty repaints it’d have been a move I think Hasbro might have made if things turned out different. I can’t think of who else you could get from Tarantulas as a new mold but it makes sense to me to give the Blackarachnia mold a third go with that, even though I think it only just about comes second behind Cheetor as being the worst BW figure in Kingdom. My Beast Wars knowledge is very limited so I know nothing of anything past season 2 at a push.

Well, technically, he started as his own character, then Hasbro was doing this thing when they were importing Japanese figures, implying that Shadow Panther was actually Ravage by giving him the same name as the TM2 Ravage (Tripredacus Agent), but then the MP figure came out and pretty hard settled Shadow Panther as seperate. Also that Shadow Panther was the world's biggest Ravage fanboy and deliberately styles himself after him.

Fiction hasn't helped as the one time Shadow Panther showed up was at the very end of BW:U as the head of the Predacon Secret Police, and was rumoured to actually be someone from the original war.

I still want Polar Claw as there is a distinct lack of Voyagers in the Beast Wars theme, and they can always say it\'s \"inspired by the comics\" or do a shattered Glass and just make a new comic - only this time do new moulds a core class Razorbeast would be nice, as would a core class Bat & Crocodile Optimus & Megatron.

Also Polar Claw makes sense to do as he has 2 ready repaints on tap.

So anyway if they keep throwing out the occasional Beast Wars toy- I don\'t think it should only be Cartoon Characters - though I won\'t object to that as Quickstrike would benefit from a Deluxe and Silverbolt from a Voyager.

I know Hasbro isn\'t likely to go big on it, but I like the idea of Beast Wars stuff having options in a different size class - so say Torca as a Voyager or Bantor as a Deluxe for example.

Very nice photos; still offended. Too cool a character for a retool. This is abusive, Hasbro! Imma gonna pass and buy something better. ;)

No, because I was alive and paying very much attention when Hasbro said Shadow Panther was Ravage, and 1) Hasbro's word is official, and 2) it's why I bought Shadow Panther in the first place.

Sometimes Shadow Panther isn't Ravage! It doesn't mean the times he was Ravage weren't valid.

Hasbro never said Shadow Panther is Ravage (unless you can provide an exact quote), what they have said is that both are agents of the Tripredacus Council. It's an ambiguous connection, both were released under the same name due to Hasbro not having the rights to Ravage at the time, but since the name used is more of a title (and both characters have since been released by Hasbro under their own names) then there's ambiguity as to if Shadow Panther was ever officially Ravage, which he wasn't as far as I'm aware. And no, tfwiki claiming that Hasbro repurposed the Tripredacus Agent release of Shadow Panther as Ravage doesn't count since they kept the Shadow Panther bio unchanged (Hasbro released it under both names on their website).

If they had done that, it would have at least been mentioned in the TFwiki.

It isn't. The wiki loves documenting things like this. I was also old enough to be around to make a Hasbrotoyshop account back then so you can drop the condescension too.
