The leg extenders make his arms look less absurdly long, so they do have that going for them (unless that's the new shoulders doing most of the work).
In any case, the upgraded figure appears slightly more proportionate. Still wish his legs weren't straight tubes, though.

 

For Arcee I bought a 3D printed backpack on ebay in the style of how she is looks in War for Cybertron. Had to remove the pinned part of her car shell parts. What's interesting is that with her old backpack removed I can take her car shell parts and make a completely separate vehicle from her robot mode. It's like having 2 separate toys now.

 

More proportionate..and a smirky face. I dig it and appreciate the effort to fix the dumpiness

 

Makes him too tall, makes the legs look weird. The back spire needs replacing, too. This kit has some nice ideas but not enough to get me to buy when the 3d kits exist. 

 

Its amazing how small these upgrade kits used to be a few years ago. Now theyre almost expected with anything hasbro makes. 

 

That one is pretty useless as well since it can't transform and makes the figure look even worse.

And I'm not talking about the backpack permanently connected to the figure, I'm talking about the "hoverboard". People always confuse those two.

 

This pretty much fixes everything I didn't like about the standard release. I might have to get one now because of this.

 

Yeah, I know what you are talking about. I'm saying that with the backpack removed I was able to use the backpack and hoverboard parts to make the car. Put the parts to good use instead of just sitting there doing nothing.

 

I’m of half a mind to buy this for the new hands, but half of this I don’t care about.

really wish it came with a smaller cannon barrel, that’s still my biggest complaint about this figure.

 

I’ll hope/wait for the selects version, but I like most of what I see here. I wont use the leg extenders but I’m sure I can find a home for them.

 

Pretty stupid to make him even taller. I get some people will think it looks better, and that's fine. But he's already taller than Rodimus, and Kingdom and Studio Series are two very scale focused lines, and this kind of screws all that up. He's going to be absurdly tall next to everyone else.

and really, nothing to replace the feet? The feet that can be easily taken off with two screws? Seriously?

 

Seems like a lot of people don't need is included and a lot of stuff people do need isn't.
Kinda typical of DNA. I only really care about the hands and the shoulder fillers.
The blast effect doesn't even look right for Galvatron. Should be more like a bright purple or violet beam.

 

This may be the very first DNA kit I\'ve seen In a long time that I consider completely useless. Seems I\'m not the only one here too, since I consider Galvatron to be a nearly perfect figure as is. Well, more options I guess. For those who wants this, enjoy it when it comes out in 7 years lol. 

 

It should also be much larger in diameter too. I know weight is an issue, but a “thicker” blast would really emphasize the power of the cannon.

 

Am I the only One that would just want a piece that plugs into the \"guns\" he comes will to make them Look more like the Revenge? With a proper domed section on top?

Second, I hope a Selects version is impending.

 

I'm not invested in the character so was happy to stick with the Titans Return version, although really I wanted something a bit taller so he had the same sort of heft as Toyworld Orion or MMC Tyrantron. Kingdom Galvatron was the same height and Open&Play Big Cannon was a little *too* big...

...Kingdom plus this kit will suit me very well

p.s. When is DNA upgrade kit for DOTM Shockwave going to arrive?

 

As someone who draws a lot of hands, it looks like he tried to catch a baseball bat. Im getting the selects one so im skipping the head, shoulder plugs, and probably the blast effect too bc i have jetfire. The shin extenders are nice but threy\'re definitely not a perfect solution for his wonky proportions, theyre a little too long and would benefit from some new feet

 

It's in the same trash bin as their original Metroplex blaster and Predaking wings.

Who knows. They've only addressed it one other time in April saying it was in production along with the Shockwave kit.

Shockwave kit has been out for a while now, since middle of October-ish. Despite some minor quirks, it turned out pretty well in-hand. I put various pics here: General Upgrade Kits Thread
