They're "factored in" with regard to needing that many backers at the current price.

But people pulling support because of stretch goals kinda misses the point. They're *stretches.* It's no guarantee they're going to be achieved.

They've done two before. I'm pretty sure either the Razor Crest and Sentinel were run more or less together.

Also, Hasbro doesn't assume anyone will back *all* of them. And I laugh at social media users saying "I've backed all of them this is a slap in the face to your most loyal supporters."

Though it is funny the Ghostbusters one hit goal while Star Wars and GI Joe falter.

That's fine. The fandom could stand to get taken down a peg.

As I keep pointing out, the Ghostbusters fans were happy. They got stickers as a goal. Rancor got a large backdrop and bones for their dioramas and complained about Hasbro not giving them a working portcullis.

I laugh at the people who don’t want to pay $350 for the Rancor but would buy it to get Oola or the Rancor Keeper.

As for the costs, it’s a matter of figuring out when the profits of a certain number of sales will cover the cost of an add on. If fans want the first tier to be a new mold, either the cost of the rancor will be higher or the first stretch goal will be ridiculously high.

People are getting very toxic with bonus items. Like all through Victory Saber they kept saying Deathasaurus as a tier...its like ok dude...whatever. The 2 mini's I can see. I think the canon and stand were a little weak. The canon should have already came with him and the stand should be tier 1, the mini's tier 2, and tier 3 should have been something like a special edition comic/manga. I wasn't asking for what should be another minimum leader if not commander class figure thrown in. But the prices were also more reasonable and justifiable than say a $600 Unicron. Or a $350 1/18 scale ship. While I enjoy the Mandalorian and loved Star Wars, I am not gonna spend my entire month's budget on 1 toy ship I don't have any other sized figures for. Same for the skystriker. I dont want to go backwards to o - ring figures. I liked the modernized 3.75 which were more articulated and 4" instead of 3 3/4. Plus there were more detail. Don't care about new plastics to keep the old figures from breaking. I have an original snake eyes and storm shadow still in good shape. Why would I pay $50 for repro's? I would like a modern skystrike but I can get the 2011 or 25th ones for about 2/3 the price of the haslab with very few changes. Some but not worth another $100. But the whole 3 at 1 time right before christmas is a huge factor in this too. I still say they fund more projects only listing 1 at a time and offering payment plans. Tying up $300-400 at one time for a figure that won't arrive for like a year year and half is a big commitment. Anything can happen between that time. It's too much of a risk for most people to take.

People have *been* toxic. It's just catching up to HasLab because all of the success have people treating it like any regular preorder.

All those people pulling support is fine, but their tune will change when it fails and there's never a Rancor. Or it succeeds without them and...oops.

This is a common criticism I'm seeing with the Haslab tiers, common enough that people really should be expecting it by now.

Yeah and I think Hasbro expects most collectors are like you and me. They don't anticipate fans ordering everything.
I feel like we're venturing off the Haslab topic, but I'll bite. I am not collecting Joes and haven't touched the new 3 3/4 figures, but I do think O-rings worked better for the ab movement than what we have now. If they can make those more durable and keep the rest of the articulation with modern sculpting I think it'd be an improvement. That said, if the new O-ring figures are all done in the old style... eh, I guess I can see a market for it like the Retro figures with 5 points of articulation, but it isn't for me.

As for the rerelease of the originals, its no different than the rerelease of G1 toys (and now Beast Wars). There's always new fans.

Don't we get that all the time with TFs? People paying a lot more to get 3P figure or masterpieces or upgrade kits just to get stuff that is a better version of what many people were happy with the first time? Just look at the markup on those Premium Finish figures. This is a new, licensed mold with more details and bells and whistles. As with the other Haslabs, its for a niche audience.

Payment plans are a great idea so long as there's a way to keep people from backing out of them, which there might not be. Maybe just tell people - hey, in 1 year we're going to be offering a Primus Haslab for $500. Start saving now.

And yeah these are big investments. I'm better off than most and it took a lot to pull the trigger on Star Saber. I'd have loved to get that Galactus or Proton Pack, but they're both way out of my price range, especially at this time. It sucks but fans need to accept these are luxury goods aimed at the most dedicated and/or well off collectors. Just like most of us aren't going to plop down money for a 3A statue, most of us won't get the Haslab projects. As long as they are not taking away something from the main line, I can live with that.

So first we didn't get stickers as a goal. That goal which is the weaker of the 4 does include a journal with plans, etc. Also the freaking 1 to 1 scale proton pack with lights and sounds was only $50 more than the rancor. That's the biggest issue, rancor was overpriced from the start. He doesn't have nearly the number of parts as all the other haslab projects, just a big action figure. It should have been about $250 or less for what it is.

I haven't been following the project too closely but the price was probably because it was solid vinyl/rubberized plastic, which is just silly for a figure that size. They could've designed a plastic jointed frame and slid the "skin" on over it and it probably would've cost $50-100 less, plus it wouldn't weigh a ton and might cut down on packing/shipping costs.

This on both. I could not care less about tiers in buying the figure. I ask myself at the initial offer, is this figure worth what they are asking and if so I buy it. If not, then I don't. The other stuff is just cute bonuses or stuff I'm throwing in a box.
That's why the only Haslab I've gone for was Victory Saber. I was tempted by a few but the value just didn't check out.
It's like the Skystriker. I LOVE the Skystriker. It's one of my top three GI Joe toys ever. I got two of the modern versions and still have the one from when I was a kid.
But I don't want a slightly updated version. I don't want to pay what they want for a slightly updated version. I don't want o-rings. Doesn't mean I hate it or anything, it's just not what I want. (I unreasonably want an impossible 6" scale. :)  ) Extra tiers won't make me bite or drop it.
Haslab needs to focus on toys that won't get made for any other reason. Instead of a Skystriker, do the PITT or the Flagg. Instead of a Rancor, do a 6" scale Y-Wing or part of a Star Destroyer. That's what will make people bite. They made Jabba's Barge and Unicron, they showed they can do this right.

Tigatron has left the building! Gotta admit it was a bit of a relief, I was getting pretty antsy seeing everyone in the Amazon thread get theirs shipped (me having canceled my Amazon pre-order once Pulse charged me for him) but I'll be glad to see him get here.

Got a ship confirmation on Sweeps this morning, just hope Drac doesn't take a week to ship. I would like to avoid shipping as little as possible in December, thank you.

Yeah, that's how it goes with holiday weekend stuff sometimes - I ordered a Fright Features Egon and a SS ROTF Bee sometime Wednesday night or Thursday morning, and Egon shipped but Bee still hasn't. Pulse has a lot going on rn even with two warehouses, but it'll probably ship this week sometime at the latest.
