I plan to add all the toy parts just once to see how it looks, then I'll go back to toon.

I love this figure... But I STILL kind of want a mp-13. I'll probably pick up the THF version of him, just because.

 

Yeah, I'll definitely try out all the toy parts at least once. Get some pics next to MP-36+, my custom MP-44+ (guess I better get to work finishing him), and TnR Agent Meister - all my toy MPs. Also get some pics next to the NA toy deco Soundwave and G1 of course. I think I'll display him with the shoulders and knees from toy mode (the knee caps, not the red above-the-knee parts) but keep everything else toon. And yeah, my MP-13 isn't going anywhere. Well I mean he's going to get kicked out of my MP display but he'll stay in my collection along with his tapes. I have the KO Ratbat which will stay in my MP collection since FT didn't include him with their tape set (they'll probably include him with the Soundblaster repaint which I have no intention of getting, so my KO Ratbat will likely stay with my MP collection forever).

 

Man I keep thinking of a second copy to have toon and toy. I thought I'd be okay with Hasbro MP Soundwave with official decals, but now I'm not sure.

Have we had anything in the way of rumours for the missing cassettes? Going to be mighty unhappy if Buzzsaw only comes with a repaint of Acoustic Wave.

 

I've grabbed the THF tapes. I'd prefer matching Buzzsaw and Laserbeak, but I'm not fussed. I can even have him mid transformation coming out AW's chest. And I'm with @Snaku on Ratbat...

Once I know the score with RP, I can sell the THF tapes as a full set, partial set, or individually.

Yeah, I figured there was a rotation joint in there for a reason so I tried it the other day. It's so nice for those who want the toy look.

I haven't yet. My understanding is that that's a bit of a crapshoot and can potentially rebound against you in ways that I don't remember. It's, like, $80 which is maddening, but if I somehow screw up my relationship with my credit card company, then when it's an issue of $800, I could be in trouble. But maybe I'm worried over nothing.

The figure also arrived slightly broken which I hadn't been pressing since it was the wrong product anyway (like the old joke about the food on the cruise "Terrible taste! And such small portions!"), but I could also file a claim with the cc company under their purchase protection for that.

 

Why does this bit at back of shoulder cannon extend?

 

I've asked this a few times and no one has answered so I'm thinking no one knows and/or it has no significance. It doesn't add much detail and looks longer to the back than the front from the mount point so it makes it look a little goofy and creates more obstructions that way. The through hole when opened makes it look like there is an alternative purpose but nothing makes sense with it. My conclusion is it was a senseless thing that they did yet I still look at it and fiddle with it thinking it has to do more.

 

That extension is loose on my copy. It constantly has to be adjusted if I want to keep it extended. That feature is more trouble than it’s worth IMO.

I think I saw it earlier in the thread, but has since been buried.

 

Mine too, I held it straight and centered and pulled a little more firmly and it felt like it locked on to the surface inside the slider. I definitely wasn't pulling like I was trying to make it come apart or anything and nothing flexed or spread apart from too much force, but it definitely has a point that can feel more solid even if unintentional.

 

My personal theory is that the extension is a holdout from the old Hasui design FT SW - perhaps more detail was originally meant to be revealed there but it was removed in later revisions. That was my guess.

I think it looks okay as-is.

 

Anyone else's who ordered from Bombusbee taking forever? Label created on 11/8, picked up on 11/10 and JUST departed Hong Kong today after being handed off to airline 11/18.

Definitely some shipping delays still going on and will likely get worse with holidays hitting.
