We got a canon version of Durge now in the Marvel Doctor Aphra books, though I'd be happy to disregard any canon rules from that source in favor of one recreated from the ground up by the Mando/Boba crew

 

All I ask for is that he remains a formless and eldritch monster. I say this because there was consideration to bring Durge back into the 2008 Clone Wars series as a human. However, that idea simply evolved into Cad Bane as an original character. Thankfully, it doesn't seem to be the case with him in the new Canon either, judging by his size.

 

I love how he has a bola as a weapon. As a kid my sister and I had homemade bolas (made out of tennis balls and rope) that we called our "bounty hunter weapons". Not sure I've ever seen a character in fiction use one before.

 

I like how he used his rocket at the end like he as going to in RotJ against Luke.

 

Also at 0:14. We see him in the no armored cloak. Looks like the rumors of flashbacks will be true. I would hope there would be a scene where we find out how he escaped the Sarlacc.

I also had a funny thought, what if Cobb Vanth shows up… and apologizes to Boba? I’m sure they’d have some sort of fight for the show’s sake, but it’d be funny if Cobb shows up and says “hey, look I’m sorry I was keeping your armor from you, I meant no harm and only want peace between us”. And Boba is like “Nah we’re good, thanks dude”.  

 

I think I heard rumors of Cobb vanth and a couple of the other bounty hunters making appearances. I could be wrong.

I bet these scenes from the trailers are only part of the first 4 episodes, like how they only showed scenes from the first 4 episodes of the mandalorian season 2 from the trailers.

Also I am praying that black series tbobf Boba fett reveal will be soon.

 

I could see a partnership arise between the sheriff and the new kingpin. Both want things to keep in place.

According to the book, Fett got out of the Sarlacc himself, but was lying on the surface of Tatooine too injured to move until Dengar picked him up.

He was also formerly known as Jaster Mereel from the planet Concord Dawn…which naturally doesn’t jive with his Episode I origin, but the books aren’t canon anymore anyway. Wasn’t there an Easter egg in The Mandalorian that wrote out the name Jaster Mereel somewhere? Or maybe it was a different show…

 

The Robot Chicken Sarlaac Pit sketches are still my headcanon for how Fett got out till this show gives it's version. Hope it's a good one, it'll be hard to top that one.

 

Jaster Mereel is now the Journeyman Protector of Concord Dawn who was the mentor and adopter of Jango Fett. Boba used this as proof that he is worthy to wear the Mandalorian armor.

 

Yes, thank you, I knew it was in there somewhere, just couldn’t recall where. Pretty cool Easter egg to put that in the show and make the name canon.
