The best supported speculation has Pax as a remold of Kup (which he has been at least twice already) and AlphaTrion from Scourge. This works well enough and alone would get me to pony up one more time for their Pulse Premium....perhaps.

So do you guys think there's any plans for them to release store exclusives in the mainline (say Netflix Bee or the Worlds Collide Autobots)? I just dont understand how you make one accurate Bee and its a Walmart exclusive, same with Sideswipe or Mirage

There's been much speculation regarding why the Netflix Bee retool hasn't bee released anywhere else. Originally started as:

• "Hasbro's VW license is only for Bumblebee"

then people remembered that there was a Cliffjumper in the Bumblebee movie line that was a redeco of a VW Bee, so then it moved to:

• "Hasbro's VW license isn't allowed to be used for villains"

then when the Target Worlds Collide 4 pack came out and Bee was on the Cliffjumper version of the mold it moved to:

• "whatever arrangement between Hasbro, Walmart, and VW that allowed for using the VW license for a non-movie Generations figure limited any rerelease of it for a certain amount of time after"

then from there it went to:

• "that was the last thing made before Hasbro's VW licensing deal expired"

but now that Hasbro can be presumed to likely be getting another licensing deal with VW for Rise of the Beasts since Wheeljack's alt mode is a VW Bus, I'm not sure what the current speculation is

 

The possible Pulsecon exclusive of Trion and Pax sounds cool for those who want them; I'm happy I'm not interested, one less exclusive to deal with!

Small side tangent; Holy fuck Orion Pax's design sums up alot of what I dislike about certain G1 designs. His robot design compared to his alt mode is completely nonsensical, cause based on Dion and the fact that the bed of his truck is just part of his body the same can be assumed for Orion (unless he's taking cues from the Diaclone Convoy prototype where his legs just partsform from his torso and connect to the end of a trailer), making him a sorta futuristic boxtruck...and you're telling me the entirety of that trailer is hiding away in probably just his thighs because it's G1 so of course that's where they are physics aren't real mass shifting is God and we killed him and replaced him with Primus.

Like on it's own I like his alt mode...just not with the knowledge it's supposed to turn into Sunbow Orion Pax.

 

Well it's also a Floro Dery original design rather than a simplified Diaclone design.

Explains why it's shit, cause they were very hit or miss. Like look at Dion and how his wheels are very obviously coloured in as an afterthought.

 

Yeah alot of those 86 era designs from Dery really sucked, most of them are just retro humanoid robots with nonsensical altmodes. Like forget about the alt modes, and most of those robot designs could be plopped down into some series with human sized nontransforming robots and they wouldn't look out of place you know besides the ones where the robots look just like humans
