you think Ravage looks great? Most of him, sure, but not his face; the snout is too long to be anything feline, like they stuck an alligator snout on him. Cybertronian mode, I know, but still.
Soundwave looks so worried, too; his visor makes him look like he's the only kid at school without a real alt mode and someone's going to call him out for it

I would have thought when making this movie they would design the Transformers in it knowing eventually there would be toys. Making Soundwave a boxy cassette player is a safe bet and yet they did this, even when the movie shows Ravage is a tape.

Something does look off with Soundwave in robot mode. I agree with earlier comments that he looks worried. The chest compartment looks odd too. 
While ravage looks pretty good i prefer him to look more cat like. He looks like a wild dog to me. 

 

Even in G1 first episode Soundwave didn't turn in to cassette player before coming to Earth. Even laserbeak turn in to the same shape of a cassette. Why would he turn in to a cassette player in his own planet.

Not true. When the 2007 movie was being made, Aaron Archer worked closely with Bay and ILM in making sure that the Transformers' designs 1) made physical sense (transforming versus morphing or mass shifting, which is a no-no when making a live action film), and 2) had designs which Hasbro could turn into product. Lo and behold, as toy engineering improved, that's how the Studio Series was able to make such accurate designs.

You would be correct. Since the movies are leaning into the "G1 but polygons" aesthetic, Ravage should be based off a panther, which is indeed, a giant cat. Bumblebee movie Ravage looks more like a direwolf. Brace yourselves. Winter is coming.

I always liked the Bay Verse take on Soundwave. Not the design but the idea that he would be a satellite. Makes alot of sense when you think about who SW is.

 

It's a pretty low bar for Cybertronian altmodes, and they still half-ass it.

A shame when final designs look so unfinished.

I don\'t give a hoot about the altmode, he\'s pretty much gonna live in robot mode on my shelf anyways, along with Ravage.

I still say the alternate mode just looks like a giant tick.

I mean at least the Siege figure did look like a spaceship, a very blocky one but I could still see it working in a sci-fi space setting.

It's a Cybertronian vehicle.

It's been a few weeks guys. It's okay to be over the fact his vehicle mode isn't anything Earthly.

 

That's still a piss-poor excuse. You can have "alien" vehicles and still have them resemble vehicles.

The Cybertron games but especially Animated got this right.
