I got the Siege seekers (well, I had SS & two Thundercrackers really, but repainted one TC into Skywarp because I CAN, needlessly padded exclusive be damned! HA!) and I was more than happy to skip the ER versions, the articulations on the Siege molds are far superior. I thought just getting the ER coneheads was the smarter move. But Amazon.ca cancelled its 2-pack Dirge & Ramjet exclusive on me nor could I find the TRU exclusive Thrust online or offf here in Canada because of the pandemic. So I was pissed and wrote off the ER jets in my consciousness. But then Hasbro announced SS86 SS. Well this is the consulation prize I guess. Still, I was on-the-fence as I was thinking if the extras is worth the Leader price.

Now seeing how good Meg & Galvatron look sitting on the throne and the cape is pretty great too so this review convinces me to get it.

I real feel like all they needed to do was redo the chest exhaust piece to look smooth and more like the toon, then remove the section that bridges over the top of the cockpit, and keep the rest of the figure the same. They coulda easily change that single part. I woulda taken that over the throne.

Ok then it should have at least tried to not be outdone by the Starscream that wasn't meant to look like the original

On an unrelated note, what's so good about Classics that they go to that one as the default "best Starscream" for their definitive G1 line?

Good, I honestly don't know how anyone could hate that Grimlock figure, the only thing that they did wrong was the open wrists but it's literally perfect otherwise, same with Slug and how good that one is

The new one also has the grey rectangles on the jet mode that was missing before and is now missing the grey paint on the shins that the figure had before.

Any differences you guys are noticing are purely imagined. All of these figures were designed with the same purpose and goal in mind. The lines that they ended up in are irrelevant, they all go together and compliment each other. Any of these figures could have been swapped between lines and the end result would have been the same figures, nothing would have changes. They basically played Tetris with all these figures and put them out between various lines in the slots they were able to fit them into.

I never liked the classics deluxe seeker mold, but I got them, cause that was the best then version only of updated toys of those characters. When I saw the "new" earthrise voyager seekers, I was severely disappointed. I never bothered buying them, because I was quite honestly happy with the siege versions already. But it seems that hasbro has got me to buy at least one earthrise mold. Now I wonder how those coronation pieces will look on the seige mold, and I for one am very excited about that idea. And the cheep-ass Throne, I want... no, need that Throne!

Anyone else think Earthrise Starscream can fit in with the Studio 86 line?

Seems the blue plastic is different, so there goes my plan to remove the tailfin from the Earthrise one. Ah well... it will fit in better with Skywarp and TC who do not have the stripe on the tailfin.

I guess you never heard, but... Studio Series 86 and WFC are THE SAME LINE.
Hasbro simply broke off some characters who appeared in the 86 movie for a separate line because Kingdom got the late addition of BW characters, making no room for everyone there.
Don't think that just because Galvatron and Ultra Magnus or Tracks are in the Kingdom line we will ever get a SS86 toy that is a new mold. Originally Kingdom was supposed to be only G1 molds. Warden's late decision to celebrate Beast Wars' anniversary as well as the 1986 movie anniversary made this huge mess and molds and remolds were pushed into the SS line from WFC. Because it was successful, it will continue, but SS86 molds have the same aesthetic as the WFC and now the Legacy toys.

    It is still bad comedy.
Using ER Starscream is good idea, but with almost nothing to change on him is just lazy job.

What is there to change? They updated the hands, they cannot add a waist rotation...

I just found Earthrise Starscream for $25. So I went ahead and bought it and just not pay an extra $30 for the throne. I would like it, but not at their asking price. Still, it has neat ways to store the accessories

Well, we do have instances of a Legacy Skids and a MP Skids all coming out in the same time frame, so you have to specify you mean the mainline figure or someone will come along to argue with you about the MP version.

And calling them “Legacy Skids and a MP Skids” isn’t specific enough?

Personally, I think they are all Transformers and can fit on the same shelf.

    But that’s just me.

Tbh, most of SS86 and S/ER/K are practically interchangeable.

Ever since they announced Leader Starscream, I just combined SS86 with Earthrise. He doesn’t look screen accurate, but in the sense that he’s a G1 remaster, he fits. Cyclonus, Quintesson, Allicon, and Galvatron fit too. The only ones I keep separate are Siege and Beast Wars Kingdom.
