The legends scale from MST? Is B the Nemesis version or is B just part of his product number? I'd have to merge most of the parts leaving just the eye piece and a small chunk of the back of his head separate (I did the same thing for Magnus) and it'd need to be mostly hand painted since masking isn't really practical at that scale. Also the antenna would be crazy delicate at that size. That said, the Magnus head I did was that size and the antenna on the Optimus side of the head has held up alright. The other issue is color matching. The only version of MST's Prime I own is the second metallic version so I'd be guessing at the colors if I tried to make it for any other version. I've thought about adapting this head to pretty much everything under the sun. There's been one or two requests for MP-10, TE-01, and ER Prime. This is the first request for legends scale I've gotten. Mostly I only put in the work if it's something I want for myself and I'm expecting that Newage will likely do a toy deco of their Optimus so I wasn't really expecting there to be any demand for a toy head at legends scale since the niche will already be filled.
yes legend scale. all MS toys legend scale are MS-Bxx. any designation of a deco is after that. i'm only thinking MS because i have both the regular and metallic version and both will be a little redundant since they are releasing v2 OP, which i'm planning to pick up. also i always thought the head was always a little too small in proportion to the body. i'm not a fan of NA OP giving the awful double chest design they went, so will prob pass on that. that being said i am still picking up the Delta/SG magnus, and perhaps the SG OP since they look so damn good.
Right. I never bothered to learn MS' naming scheme cuz well I never bother to learn any company's scheme. Too many to keep track of. But yeah, I get that that Optimus will be redundant soon - mine will too. I might think about making the metallic version into my toy deco prime but I actually really like NA's toy decos so I'll probably get their toy Prime even though I agree with the double chest being a major eyesore. I think I'll wait and see what they do. If their toy version has a remolded head, I'll go with it. If they do the thing they've done with the others where it's just a repaint, then I'll probably adapt my head to legends scale for both NA and MST.
I did a quick digibash because I wondered how this might look on MP10. I know the head connection is different, but with some modifications that may be an option. Just needs some chrome thighs and some arm stickers.
Before finally deciding to order the silverpants KO, I was actually looking for an "Optimus Shine" MP-10 to swap out the chrome pants with my MP-10. I was really really hooked on chchchch's digi, though, and I really wanted a toy style MP-44. Anyway, the MP-10 version of the head is on my to-do list, as is a TE-01 version (wasn't planning on it but I absolutely loved how the head looked on MP-49 and my Nemesis is a TE-01 so I wanna' give him a toy head) but I've been working on other projects lately.
If you can live with the fact that the grill, stacks, gas tanks, and matrix are also silver instead of chrome, the silver pants are a nice upgrade. Personally I don't think it was exactly "worth it" but I've been obsessed with having a toy version of MP-44 so I took the plunge anyway.
Is it just me or does this look super like Snaku's head? Might just be me but they look pretty alike. Anyways great work man I love that head sculpt and keep making this epic stuff!
I mean both are modelled after the g1 version so there's gonna' be similarities. Theirs is more accurate with the antennae being thicker sideways while mine are thicker front to back and their "hat brim" is more accurate. I deviated from the toy on both of those aspects because I liked how chchchch's digi looked. Theirs has the mouthplate that comes up in the center, though, which is inaccurate. The G1 toy's mouthplate came down.
Not yet but I'm going to be designing a version that will be compatible with him. I've been procrastinating but, since we got the payment request for the toy version of MS-02 recently, I plan on working on it this weekend so it'll be done in time for the figure.
He's gorgeous! I still need to disassemble the chest stripe parts on mine and spray them silver. And finish the windshield parts.
Even though I made this with thanks to you I’m so buying the not 44+ that’s coming out to pair with the Takara Meg+. Although imho my Megs+ is better than Takara’s. Lol.
