Thanks! And yeah I later noticed that it is actually a required step for proper transformation between the modes. I always like it when a mistransformation can be useful like this.

Lol, if it makes you feel any better, mine came with two left hands and there have been multiple reports in this forum about people having the same hand issue. QC seems to be a bit rough on DS-01.

Received mine yesterday and had some time to mess around with it a bit. Pretty much the same thoughts as everyone else. Nice heft, good range of motion, looks very toon. I forgot who mentioned it, but I agree that the RP one's head has softer features, while the MP-13 head looks more menacing. This also gave me an opportunity to take MP-13 off the shelf to play around with, and MP-13 is still a great figure, but I will be using RP for the toon shelf.

Some comparisons of tape deck mode:

    Robot Mode:

As for FIBRIR, the sculpt and size is quite nice, but the arms are atrocious. The lack of a bicep swivel makes the posability pretty limited. TT has no bicep swivel either, but the ball jointed shoulders does help a bit. Some comparison pictures of other Frenzies. Obviously, MMC is the most posable because it is much bigger, so it might not be a fair comparison. P.S. I always thought something was off with the MMC one, now I realize what it is. The paint scheme on the shins are wrong. Might paint them up some day to match the toon.

Arms out to the side, RP one needs to cheat to do this. TT is just using the shoulders.
    IMG_20211127_090156.jpg

Hands on hips. RP cannot do this at all. TT can cheat it a bit.

Aren't they aiming for cartoon accuracy, not toy accuracy?

were they? FT comes close with the leg colors, but I can't figure out what MMC was after. I love MMC's but it's wrong to everything in the leg department.

Yeah, that's a bummer for sure. There's no excuse for it these days, and weird after they did such a great job on poseability with Soundwave. He can shoot sideways or across his body but he looks like he's trying to be a gangsta.

I imagine my Acoustic Wave just hanging around the first class lounge sipping complementary drinks while waiting for the plane to board.

Is there a customer service number for Robot Paradise?

The gun accessory I received is not quite right (difficult to extend, doesn’t fully extend, and chrome part is very crooked when extended). Just wondering if they would be able to send a replacement as opposed to returning it to the retailer.

Or, does anyone know how to disassemble the gun to see if I can fix it myself?

    And from Dell at that....

I spent about 5K Canadian on a scratch built PC last year, including all peripherals.

No, worse, for three days it's been just miles from me here in Phoenix! I know Thursday was Thanksgiving but I was expecting it yesterday. I hate those "so close but so far" situations more because it makes me think something went wrong in the delivery process. My wife had one of her orders delivered on Thanksgiving day so I really didn't think things would be slowed down too much.

Probably for work. I build computers for 3D CAD use for a few companies and they're about $3800-5000 after our markup/time spent on them. I see none of that money, of course... but if you're a company that designs water parks worldwide, you're paying top dollar for computers.

I think BioMec mentioned they do some sort of bio stuff (literally in their username) and I've built computers for cancer research/biotech places as well. You can use a shocking amount of resources when doing that stuff.

Not to get too off topic, but where’s a good place to get a pre built computer these days? (Canada preferably).

Also on topic, I hope these cassettes get out soon so I can ship it with Acoustic Wave and maybe get it by Christmas.

Can't help you with a replacement, but did want to mention that I have a similar issue, except that the chrome part is straight on mine. It feels very much like a bad clone of the MP Soundwave weapon; in theory it works the same way (extend cylinder, lift handle to extend tip), but everything is so ridiculously tight that you need tools to actually get the chrome bit out.

The same is unfortunately true for the rest of the figure. He reminds me a lot of DS-01 Starscream, in that everything is just way too tight and squeaky, and there are no carve outs or divots to let you pry out parts with fingernails. However, this figure is considerably worse in that a lot of parts require excessive amounts of force to even budge. The shoulders on mine in particular required a ridiculous amount of force to lock in properly. Even the shoulder cannon doesn't peg on properly without a lot of forced twisting. The waist slider catches on everything, and requires a lot of fiddling to move about. The whole thing reeks of bad tolerances and overly fussy design.

Also: MP cassettes don't fit. The tapes have been deliberately sized a mm or two narrower to force you to buy a new set. Fuck that.

On the plus side, he does look good in robot mode, though I think alt mode is a tossup (so many cover panels, and none of them are large enough to fill in all the gaps. If I can still see feet in the alt mode, have you actually improved anything over the MP?) He does fix my one personal pet peeve with MP Soundwave, which is that the battery-shaped weapons actually store in the battery compartment now, like the old G1 toy. (Seriously Takara ... why would you have batteries just hanging out on the back next to the compartment?) And you can theoretically transform him using the instructions ... as long as you realize that a lot of the steps are hilariously out of order, and will require you to undo previous steps for clearance.

But other than that, I think it's a hard sell as an upgrade. I guess if you want a better looking toon robot mode and enjoy using spudgers on everything, he's fine, but otherwise he's just super messy.
