I think that's part of the problem though. Break it during that third play pattern, and one of the other two play patterns will likely be compromised or lost.

I'm in no way heavy handed with my figures, but seeing people who clearly like this figure a lot eventually breaking their copies through no fault of their own is concerning.

I heard that that was just a clearance sale. They had to get rid of the remaining stock in Weijiang's last warehouses, starting with Blackout and now Optimus Prime.

It's mixed it sound like cause Showz or someone originally said it was old stock then Iacon Store or someone said it was new stock/a reissue so who knows (a rumor is another company may be releasing BA Ironhide with the CAD Files/3p printed copy BA had).

Perhaps you could make a simple guide on the common breakage points and transforming tips to us greenhorns that have the patience but not the experience in knowing what problematic areas need a special touch.

Very easy to know if it is leftover stock or reissue. Asked the seller if they are able to provide after sales replacement parts.

So far all local sellers here have put up a disclaimer that these are cobbled together from leftovers and there will be no replacement parts.

I think what’s coming on the market are the after sales parts. They just assembled them into as many complete figures as they could.

I'm not saying it's a perfect figure that doesn't break, I was arguing against the idea that it's a statue that must never be touched. Even with transformation, as I said if you're patient and memorize the steps then you may never break it. Robot mode especially feels of very high quality with joints that mostly hold up under repeated, not-gentle use.
I've talked a lot about them in this thread in the past, but off the top of my head these are some areas to be extra careful with while transforming:
    • Rear fenders
    • Doors (the hinge that connects them to the torso specifically)
    • Smoke stacks (where the two halves connect)

For a super in-depth transformation tutorial, which will help you out to understand the correct order of things, i recommend the tutorial by Black Apple himself linked in the post above

Holy shit, I've actually been missing a few small steps this whole time! Damn. I wish I'd known about this video two years ago.

Also a good demonstration of how solid the figure is in both modes.

When I said it's a "don't touch me" figure I was talking about that it has brittle parts under the transformation, like TW09. In robot form of course you can touch him. :lol

Shmoptimus Prime and ManelFigures can we agree that it's a solid figure with some easy to break parts and stop it here? I mean, this thread already has 433 pages, most of which are somewhat pointless discussions (considering you both agree on the discussed topic) thus making it harder to find any relevant information about upgrades, modes and so on.

Its discussion about this figure in it's own thread. I dont see how that is pointless.

It seems we both were agreeing anyways! Also, no I'm not gonna not post just because people can't learn how to search a thread. This space is for discussion of the figure, which is what we're doing. WAY more relevant than the millions of posts asking over and over "where can I buy this?" and "is weijiang dead?" Every relevant piece of information on this thing has been posted five fucking times so if you still can't find it then that's on you.

Besides what has already been said, the discussion about the figure and the transformation WILL help others when they get the figure. It's literally the opposite of pointless.

If you're having trouble finding the information you want check this post out! I tried gathering as much as I could so you'll probably find what you're looking for :) :

Additionally the benefit of being a lively and active thread is that you can ask something and there are people here actively participating who might be willing to help. ThePrimeCustom’s summary thread linked above is a great example.

Man, take it easy... We're just talking and sharing opinions, nobody is fighting or arguing... Don't be so "thin skin"... :S
If you need to find something, learn to use the search box but let the users talk... We're all in the same boat here, sharing a hobby / passion. @Shmoptimus Prime is a respected user and a nice person, I never saw him starting a fire.

if you don't like to read opinions from others, Youtube is plenty of videos with detailed info or if you don't find something, just ask here, everyone will gonna help you.
