A positive review from a DS product from Emgo??
No I kid, he went through astronomical effort to transform all the figures from this line for comparisons. It was nice seeing him kinda enjoy handling a figure from this line.

Those figures are better and better. The only real and big problem is Split / Mixmaster, and as it was the first release we all remember that transforming nightmare. Emgo broke and throw away his first one, Jobby broke it too during his review, I personnally broke it too. Smash / Long haul is hard to transform too but he's not as fragile as Mixmaster is. I don't have any real complain about the others.

I think it will never come but a rework of Mixmaster would be a big plus.

Giant Axe is also very disappointing in robot mode. Alt mode is great though.

I beg to differ as I do like Giant Axe's alien like robot form. To everyone his own I guess.

It's not the alien design that I don't like. I love the character design, and I think the SS figure got a lot right and I really like that figure, but the DS figure has the proportions all wrong. The head is way way too small, the wheels are way too small and the torso/shoulders are too big.

I like a lot about the figure, but somehow despite all the posability they added there isn't a bicep swivel, which greatly reduces the amount of poses you can do. Plus with basic use of my figure a couple of the super heavy ratchets started to come apart, which worried me so I basically had to put him in torso mode on the shelf when I could be playing with him. Just my opinion but I wish he was more accurate and playable in robot mode.

Not only is Giant Axe less movie accurate than SS Scavenger in robot mode, its grinder wheels get more misaligned to Split's combiner head as DS Devy goes lower on all fours. I am thinking of undoing some tabs on Giant Axe's and Compresor's combine forms to lower the wheels. Has anyone presented a workable solution before?

Anyone here in Devil Saviour/Bombusbee's "inner circle" with some solid info when the last bot is shipping?

EDIT: So I got the red spray paint I ordered in the mail today, intending to do a full repaint into Rampage, but MAN I'M NERVOUS! I'm going to have to take the figure apart as much as possible, which is a lot of screws and things. If I mess up it'll be really disappointing. However it could be lots of fun and look great, and it could be a long time before there's an official red repaint...

Yeah they made more than just a few adjustments to Landslip. They re-engineered half the figure! I think it is for the best but it also means it's definitely getting delayed. I'm hoping to see some colored pictures soon as well as a look at those little non-transforming twins they're giving us as well.

Man he looks so menacing coiled up there; holding out for a red version is so hard! Look forward to seeing how your custom turns out

Thanks! Here's the progress so far. I used Tamiya spray and the can ran out! So now I ordered a new one which won't be here til sunday. I was in the middle of giving everything a second coat. The first coat has everything looking a bit too orange since the yellow was still showing though in a lot of places. It took FOREVER to get him disassembled to paint. So many screws! And so many small areas to mask over, although I was pretty sloppy with that. I'll just repaint it all with gunmetal or black, not hard at all. Also, once I had the arms off I figured I'd do an obligatory "Bumblebee brutally murdered him by ripping his arms off!" shot hehe

Yes, also it's the yellow light from my bathroom where the pieces were chilling cause there's ventilation in there. Here's a pic of one of the pieces after the second coat. Honestly, if it still looks a bit orange after coat 2 then I'm gonna leave it. My spray can literally ran out and I don't mind the color as-is.

Nice job; looks like a good even coat and the right tone of burnt sienna that matches the move model !
