Haha! Good decision, and good on you for sticking too it!

Hmmm… a possibility for sure. I’m very interested in seeing more about this new line—mostly so I know whether I need to go into panic mode about including them in my collection! :D

I have to, cannot afford ALL of the monthly releases :p  and this is after quitting
    MPs and mainlines

It has Diaclone on it, made by TakaraTomy. scifi-color repaints will be a must-buy
    for me

Dear gods.... I almost wonder if they might start leaning in with die cast... which... I don't think I could afford the premium of that. If on the other hand... this gets us some vehicles like the long ago teased APC or bunkers/FOBs that'd be neat.

I'd told myself I was only going to go with the Black/Red (Shadow) repaints... since I'd started with Buffalo and Gammas... then got BP Destroyer, then Red Lightning. It was going well until they didn't specifically do a "shadow Digger/Driller" (though the default color pallet was pretty on point) and I didn't care for the head design of the original Rambler release. Then they never really followed up with a Black repaint for either VersRiser 2 (wheels and guns) and 3 (power gloves).

Ultimately I think it was V-Max that got me to cave on Hero colors... and now... I feel caught between both. Especially when looking at Powered Greater and a lot of the 'base add-ons'.

I'm not sure how I'd feel about that. I really don't think it'd fit with the current style... but that's what sublines are for.

    Saw this on Twitter

I wasn't aware how big Rambler was compared to Convoy and the other Tiverse... not sure how I feel about that.

I think this is the first time I've seen cross-compatibility with the Gridman Crossover ('DA-74') ship. Took me way too long to figure out where those big red wings came from.

The Tactical Mover line sounds right up my alley (being focused on sci-fi and detailed), but I’m a bit confused as to what they really have in mind. We won’t know anything really until there are images, but for it to be a sub-line means it would have to be fundamentally based on some kind of different concept. Maybe they don’t transform and are more centered around being carrier vehicles?

With them going more realistic and more detailed it sounds like almost a premium version (as in more expensive), but Diaclone is already a premium product so this sounds a little dumb (cannibalistic) from a marketing perspective… so I don’t think they’d do that.

Very curious though and would be fully on board if they leaned hard into the more militaristic Cosmo marines angle.

Okay I'm both excited and concerned... On the one hand it frees them up to try new things, but I'm curious to see if it really complements the existing line or is a mostly separate line and worried that we may see them potentially turning off those completists already maxed out due to cost of the hobby...

From the description they’ve given so far, it sounds like that militaristic angle is exactly what this will be. Like they’re taking the Cosmo Marines theme and expanding it into its own line.

I’m guessing it will compliment the line in the same way the Cosmo Marines releases have, except that they won’t just be redecos of the existing mechs.

Branching off into a subline would allow them to come up with militarized hard-offense designs that have qualities more like the Gamma Suit, while retaining the core Diaclone aesthetic of sci-fi defensive mechs based on vintage Diaclone in the main line.

What I’m wondering is whether the Hard-Diaclone line will only have “good guy” sets or if it will also include some extra fierce Waruda—or perhaps a new enemy?

That is definitely one of my nit-picks of the Rambler. It's vehicle mode is just so big. The other 3 Trivers fit together so well from a design & size perspective that Rambler seems like an outlier. Some odd choices made with that one, for sure. I wish there was more "transformation" involved, especially the legs. They should fold up & compact more. It would give it a smaller wheel base and help with the whole "just a robot lying down on his skateboard" look.

All that being said it's still a cool bot, robot mode is great, and I'm happy I have it. It's just my least favorite of the Trivers line.

I feel similarly about Rambler. It’s a cool bot and I’m glad I have a squad of them, but it’s also a really odd mech among the others.

I’m simultaneously amused and befuddled at why they would build a giant motorcycle with a seated cockpit. It’s similar to the Pilgrim exocraft in No Man’s Sky though, so I get a kick out of that, but the sheer scale of it makes the alt mode feel a bit ridiculous.

I do like the sleek design of the bot mode though, and the top machine makes a great little scout flier.

Got my two Pod Granders in the mail today.
Unfortunately I left my Battle Convoy at work and am not going back in until Tuesday.
    Ugh.

Now that we kind of talked about the Hard Diaclone line a bit, I think it will just be repaints of everything in Green and Tan.

I really hope not. I actually much prefer sci-fi to "realistic military" looks. Plus, I want NEW things :D  :D

I think it will be vehicles, transports and APCs. They’ve neglected the dianauts aspect recently… just including a pilot or two with every mecha.

It’s not a bad idea to have a subline branching out to make releases more compatible with the dianauts / PS in other areas other than just as pilots.

Hope your all correct. Lots more troop transports like that motorcruiser and raid bullets of other styles plus new Battle Buffalo carrier would be badass.

That is a sharp little flyer. I think a part of me accepts the Rambler design because according to the website it’s supposed to be the “massive production” VERS mech. Which given it’s technical ability to do rapid ground and air transport makes it very VERSatile (sorry not sorry). But out of all the designs (of Diaclone as a whole) it still feels like the roughest fit so far. I think if they me tried to integrate the “bike sled” into the main mech instead of being an independent unit…. We might have gotten something more interesting from a conversion standpoint. But since it’s suppose to be a conveyance device it meets its needs. And ultimately the ‘top’ and ‘bottom’ machines aren’t any less strange than the rest odd the VERS series.

mine thing that would be interesting, since I think they mentioned more paint or higher detail…. Would be actual camouflage designs- either urban, desert, etc. As tempted as I’d like to see more of the monitor/screens *inside* the mechs/vehicles that would be rather insane.

It could also lead us to see if possible weapons/backpacks etc for the dainaught 2.0 bodies too. I’d be down to see some base spreads, whether bunk beds/dorms. Crates or other diorama stuff would be interesting.

Perhaps it’ll lead to actual drop ships or cargo ships like a C130 or something. What worries me most… I’ve seen Game workshop priced for roughly similar scale vehicles and those aren’t painted/assembled or even the same durability standards….

So I’m equal parts excited, curious, and terrified.

I justify Rambler's size difference due to it being developed by the Moon base. The moon's terrain and craters require some greater ground clearance and creative maneuvering.

For some reason, I hadn’t considered camouflage at all, and that’s an excellent point! I could totally see that as being one of the more realistic details they add, and I hope you’re right. Same with what you said about monitors, even though I didn’t quote that part. :D

I would love to see all of those possibilities for the line!

And I agree 100% with your last statement. :D

    Shadow Convoy arrived!

Initial thoughts are - exactly what was expected! For anyone who missed on the original, I can definitely recommend picking this one up.

    What you get:
    9ECCFDCB-6DF6-4AC3-8222-1280E4701299.jpeg

    Machine modes:

    Comparison with the original:

    Fully decked out:

    Group shot:
    64D7DDC1-2D49-4CEA-B654-03918AAAE92E.jpeg

So the finish and volume all remind me the most of Red Lightning:
    1C0D83C7-8698-449A-985F-73E9C7CF8D29.jpeg

No QC issues whatsoever and feels very solid. The paint is beautiful and the additional weapons are nice. Swords are the same as Dia Battles. Only gripe is it would have been nice if they threw in clips to enable storage on the swords.

For things to be careful of (especially in winter months), I found the joint connecting the upper and lower body to be extremely tight and hard to flip out:
    FB5BAA85-E02D-4D4B-A61A-7F228E22E95A.jpeg

Also, the black tabs on the legs that are supposed to peg in and hold the arms in place when in “truck” mode don’t fit (because of paint?) in the ports. Might want to file down the peg a little, use heat, or just don’t peg them in:
    CB21149A-8438-40F3-BD4E-9753B6F105EC.jpeg

As for paint on the knees, mine looks perfect, but it is matte paint which seems a little more prone to chipping so I plan on being very careful.

Overall feels very premium and absolutely worth the price. Can’t wait to see pics when everyone else gets theirs in!

Okay, those group shots just totally sold me, thanks for all the amazing pics and quick write up. The unified color scheme with the bullet cores really makes a difference. Love the look with the gunner core in the chest.

Maybe it's just because I haven't had Red Lightning (Dia Battles) out at the same time as Convoy.... but they're a lot closer in size than I'd expected. It makes sense since that was sort of 'the point' of the release, but it's interesting seeing the mass redistributed. It does further convince me we'll get a V-Mover/Bullet Core compatible Dia Battles sooner than later though.

Glad that the swords are the same size as Dia Battles, bummed about the lack of c-clips... that seems like a heck of an oversight... .can they be slid into the shotgun clips on the waist? (though I'd worry about scraping).

TriRambler 'alt-mode' really homages the old Henshin Cyborg, which unfortunately
not very believable... The extra articulation also seems to homage Henshin
Cyborg / Microman as well, especially compared to the other TriVerse mechs.

Same issue as my V-Max, so I avoid using this configuration :D
    the red-matte looks beautiful
