I accidentally ordered two Jackpots and both arrived this morning. Both have the head alignment issues, but one was more pronounced than the other. I'd be curious if anyone would be brave enough to disassemble the head and see if it was supposed to be attached in a different manner then these were.

I assume the visor and face are a separate (single) piece that nests within the two halves of the helmet? Odd that many examples showing misalignment at the top look relatively straight at the chinstrap.

you'd only be "that asshole" if there was already an official fix. as it is you're doing a large company's job for them and making art at the same time, so i'd say a little anger is fully justified.

It appears so, based on the gapping around the chinstrap. It's very odd and I wish I could get my hands on one right now to see exactly how it's put together. I can see what they were going for, since the original AM head has the mold line down the center as well, I just don't know how they fucked up the mold so badly on this one. It's not just misalignment of a mold that's otherwise okay, it's a fundamental flaw in the mold tooling itself.

From Armageist on twitter, a coloured image of the head showing the issues

By my count that makes 8 Jackpots that all had the split head, zero reported to have a "correct" head.

Have we ever gotten a product release with a defect as disfiguring as this? Galvatron's shoulder problems was subtle enough that a lot of people never even noticed. Most misassemblies are only problems in transformation - you don't see it when you simply look at the figure.

I imagine what we'll get is, like, DNA comes in with a single kit for all 4 Golden Disk packs- some weapons, a stolen version of the Huffer hand covers, new head for Jackpot, etc

So it's not so much a misalignment of symmetric parts, but fundamentally asymmetric parts that can't really be assembled cleanly? I'm sorry, but that's worse than a production error. That means a design that's flawed in a way that should have been corrected waaaaay back up the river.

The split head looks pretty bad, that sucks. I'll still get him to have a regular toy of Jackpot that transforms though.

I hate having leftover accessories in one mode. Is it possible to store both Sights and the gun on Jackpot's alt mode?

If you pull his feet on the back of the car down slightly then you could plug the gun there.

I can't really tell which side of the head is "wrong", honestly both sides seem a bit wonky and warped in addition to the whole mis-matching thing. It just feels like the whole thing bot messed up on a fundamental level, not just a simple single point of failure in the design.

I wonder if they are ALL messed up (which would seem likely) if they'd consider issuing a replacement. I know Power Rangers isn't TF, but when they released the Dino Thunder White Ranger wthout the black paint trim they actually eventually offered people free replacements. Now, to be fair, painting a head is easier than making a new-mold head, but still...

Almost wished they gave an excuse in the info blurb like "but the downside of going through the Golden Disk portal misaligned his helmet, leaving combat even more to luck due to constantly shifting his head around to aim properly"
