Uhm, the face looks a bit off to me, but he looks good next to Victory Saber and that's the most important thing. Looking forward for this, I hope it won't have any problems because who knows when we'll get another MP Deathsaurus.

I understand what you are saying and I think Victory and maybe to a lesser extended SGMF had a problem with scale because for the first time they had leaders that were overpowered and sized fighting combiners and even citybots. They wanted all those figures to appear the same height and it doesn't work in reality. God Ginrai was sized to be in scale with Star Saber and Road Caesar. Deathsaurus was sized with Star Saber. I think there is the need to keep the combiners at 20 inches and Liokaiser, Road Caesar, Dinoking, and Landcross all fall in there. The new God Ginrai from KFC is supposed to be 17 inches. I think this Deathsaurus is around 15 inches which seems right to me. I think the Takara Star Saber was short and would like to see another Star Saber but now that Simba has been done I find it hard to see another one. TT Star Saber was just a flimsy mess that looked decent. I think the scale now of these leaders fighting a little undersized to the combiners works.

didnt say it was a bad piece, just overrated, as in ppl give XTB extra brownie points for having the decency to not fuck over their consumer base for a change ... the soft bigotry of low expectations and what not :)

Overrated how? Nobody's calling it the best toy ever. But it is basically a flawless execution of that character. It's show accurate in both modes, its transformation isn't overly difficult (and the extra complexity has purpose, like how the feet can flip out that white section where the Autobot symbol goes for the altmode), is beautifully painted, has great build and materials, and has all the accessories you could possibly want. Plus it was pretty inexpensive!

So because of this release, it's causing me to look into getting both MP Star Saber and KFC's Simba along with all the extra nooks and crannies that come along with the set. And yea, I pre - ordered this too. Now I just have to wait till after Christmas to see what I get and what I need to buy as I added the set plus extras to my Christmas list this year. It'll be cool to be able to add another character to the set.

I'd strongly recommend getting KFCs joint upgrades for Starsaber as well. Mine couldn't hold a pose worth a damn without them, plus the bigger sword is a nice bonus.

Yup! Got it, that's what I meant by "with all the extra nooks and crannies" and "the set plus extras". Whatever I don't get for Christmas, I'll order separately! We'll see what happens, either way, I'm super excited! Haha!

Be VERY CAREFUL with MP Star Saber. When making mods, screws can easily strip on you and be sure when installing springs to support limbs as you bend for knee ratchets. Plastic will hold up but these improvements are needed to make MP Star Saber stable. The knee and hip joints especially can become overly strong. Its needed for support because there is a weakness in the internal hip that cannot be EASILY modified.

Yup, I got it! I did my research prior to making the decision. I already read the entire Star Saber thread along with the KFC Simba thread and the fix thread. I should be pretty prepared! Thanks a lot.

I'm tempted to say that Klaatu is the best transformer in my collection and I don't even like XTB. I'm more of a FansToys FanBoy.

Klaatu can hold just about any pose. He has double jointed elbows and ratchets in the hips, knees, and ankles. Klaatu is well balanced, well painted, and made of excellent materials. The transformation is smart and fun. I'd recommend Klaatu to anyone who has even a vague interest in MP transformers.

I can second this. I got my MP Star Saber loose and used, and the added strength of the KFC hip ratchets not only cracked his legs, but eventually led to a screw in his pelvis splitting in half which made his pelvis explode suddenly. He also yellowed right away. I think we're due for an MP Star Saber update with better articulation and PAINT instead of bare white plastic.

Yikes, had no idea the upgrades did that. Not had that trouble myself, but then again, SS isn't a figure I mess with often.

So we're stuck between a floppy mess of a figure or a possible time bomb? Nice.

I think that it is possible XTB may come back and do one at this point but where does that sit in their massive backlog?

Dunno, but I'd buy it. MP Star Saber was probably my most disappointing figure of all time.

It’s worth mentioning that if KFC makes a star saber that’s actually the size of deszaras but still worked with Simba, that victory saber would actually look better.

... Or even that other scene.
