He's talking about the fact that the window would need to be bigger in order for the yellow outline to come to the edge.

During the pandemic I created a drop box for parcels etc outside my front door. Although I didn’t add it in the end I was going to add a simple latch and leave an opened padlock in the box. This way a delivery person could dump the parcels and lock the box. It wouldn’t be expensive to do.

Thank you! I suck, at explaining things.

P/S: It's not just the window but the chest itself that would have to be different and thus less toon accurate. :D

If that is what he's saying then that won't be an issue if it meant bigger tapes given how most scoffed at the rather diminutive TT versions and flocked to MMC's gargantuan versions. Frankly I always liked TT's size as they fitted the mantra of 'tiny but tough' as a board member here once put it eloquently.

Or it would mean a bigger cavity in AW's chest and not a bigger figure as he is suggesting.

Either way the inherent design of FT's AW's chest is wrong going by the source material.

I think we all got what you were saying. But they made the decision they did to go with the smaller window in keeping with the toon aesthetic. If they made the window (or even the border around it) larger like the TT version it would be too big like the toy aesthetic. In which case, the TT version already exists for those that prefer that look.

Is it possible for you to receive your shipments at work/office instead of home? Or maybe even ask spouse/friends if you can ship it to their work/office in their name? I used to do that, and it was a little weird at first because co-workers kind of know your business regarding where you shop, spending habits, etc, but that goes away pretty quickly. Once I tried it I found out many others in the office did the same thing and no one cared that they were personal packages and not business related. Every day around noon the receptionist would sign for all the carriers and send out emails to everyone who got something. Then there would be a mass of people speed-walking to the front desk to get their goodies, it was pretty humorous.

No, it's just myself and the people in my house that can watch for them. When i'm not here, like yesterday, my family is supposed to pick up the slack and watch but since the mailman came so early yesterday it stayed out in the wide open too long and some scumbag helped themselves. Work is a no-go, though. Tried it once, will never try it again because I was told it wasn't appreciated.

Have you considered something along these lines? Seems like you could easily chain/bolt it.

The issue isn't about making the tapes bigger. It's about making the window bigger. In the cartoon, the window on Soundwave's chest is small. So if you want to be 100% accurate, you'd need to make the tapes smaller so they could fit into a smaller door.

I just got mine in last and was flipping it back and forth. (To note my MP-13 is a fourth party one) IMO this is leaps and bounds over MP-13 I love the cartoon aesthetic on it, even though I know some people hate it. I think that it looks great and what i want in my collection. The transformation is really fun and solid. I do like rumble too, and he transformers and feels.

It is obvious. It's my chief complaint about this figure as well. Personally I would prefer they make the tape door the tape door and to hell with trying to make it look like it's smaller on the figure (I like toon accuracy to a point but not when ridiculous compromises need to be made). But, as others have pointed out, they drew his tape door smaller in the cartoon so the only way FT could achieve that would be to make the tapes tiny or to fudge the tape door by including some of the surrounding chest as part of the door. I think they made the wrong call but I'm pretty sure we're in the minority here.

My other complaint that I've kinda' mentioned a few times is that I love the gold trim on his chest window but it seems odd to have that bit of toy accuracy while making his knee parts yellow instead of gold (not chrome like the chest but at least a metallic gold color) and his arms and thighs white instead of silver. Still, I think the pluses outweigh the negatives and he's an overall good looking figure. I also love that optional toy deco parts. I'm going to be mixing and matching a bit with how I display mine - toon face and upper knee parts (skipping the red pieces) but I'll probably use the rest of the toy parts because I like that extra bit of greeble.

Definitely looks like it could be useful but my only worry is them actually using it. I plan to have a word with the mailman about what happened because I have something else coming tomorrow, so I'll ask him if they'd even bother using it. Would be a good size though so i'll definitely keep it in mind.

On a very tangential note, the strategy I usually use with postal workers is to be really friendly and chat them up a bit whenever I get a chance. They have so many folks complaining, that they usually respond well to friendliness.

It doesn’t always work, but when it does, I often get some degree of preferential treatment from them (being more careful with my packages, hiding them where I tell them, going the extra mile to track something down for me etc.). And I get to know them and their perspectives a bit too!

    Cookies help… wait! That’s Santa!

As much as I feel for the situation @Blingotron I can’t offer to send money to a random on a forum. Not saying your story is bogus but if it were, it’s the easiest $60 you could have made. Fair play to those with that kind of willingness.

I seriously do hope you get either your packages back, or compensation. I really can’t stand undelivered goods. It’s literally like going to work - not to do your job. If it was left outside unattended it’s total negligence from your postal company. It’s like being a surgeon, going to the operating room, and not preforming a medical procedure in someone. It’s more than naive for any postal worker to think that things won’t get stolen.

Man I can't stand thieves, I had to file a claim with the USPS. They admitted that my package was misdelivered and said they could try to retrieve it but it's probably gone so I need to file a claim.

@Blingotron Sorry to hear man but this is a long shot that I always tell ppl but look up Craigslist and see if anyone out of the bloom has an AW for sale around your area. Chances are whoever took it doesn't know shit about it so communicate with the seller and see if you think they know about the hobby or even Transformers in general. Shit see if they even have any other Transformers for sale. If you think that's the culprit see if you can talk to a Cop,tell them your situation and have them there with you when you come to buy it. It's a 50/50 shot.

As for USPS,I'm thankful I have a good relationship with my mailman, even before knowing him well he would always hide all my packages behind a shrub/bush as I got to know him more I kindly asked if he can put any packages behind my fence from now on and never had any issues. Even when he goes on vacation he'll leave a note for whoever to place all my packages behind the fence.

To anyone if you have and see the same mailman/woman regularly, just be nice and polite to them as their job can get hectic but a little appreciation or even a simple hello goes a long way.

Not saying you're wrong but I've never felt that keeping someone who doesn't need/deserve something from getting it is more important than being compassionate to those who do.
