I dunno - I feel like most of the time we have some 'honest' indication of comparative size of bots before they are released. I don't recall many, if any, figures where the bot height has been a big surprise upon release, and not as expected, because all promo material either gave no indication or a misleading indication.

That said I'm fine with Groove being smaller - just saying what I see.

 

slightly shorter than an mp carbot. thats a good height. i would prefer him even smaller but this looks good. hopefully the toy is decent in QC. it looks good except for the alt mode's engine is his arms. haha. that being said still looks good overall. not sure i will get more protectobots though. we'll see.

 

I just ordered Jocund to complete this set. I will immediately transform him into alt mode because no matter how accurate his bot mode is, it's just awful looking. Like that ugly newborn baby you say is cute, but you don't make eye contact with it.

 

Guess credits go to some Chinese collectors. Still no box shot, don't know who is the next.

Mine hasn't either, experience tells me that they are getting the right size boxes to ship them in, and that does not always go without delay.

Mine doesn't... the more I see of him "in (other peoples) hands", the better I feel about my choice to go with MMC. Normally I like XTB, but I feel they made too many sacrifices for this character.

But hey... I may end up scratching around for one if MMC's doesn't live up to their renders.

Have you taken a look at Generation Toy's Motor? It's an updated take on Groove, but in my opinion, is better looking than G1 in both modes.

The Generation Toy Protectobots are great looking, and they are the same height as the Xtransbots ones. The only downside is that their Defensor is a midget, otherwise I'd have been in on this a long time ago.
