Yeahhhh I'm in on these as long as reviews are good. The sculpts are lacking but I dont mind too much. I'll take absolutely any MPM Dreads I can get my hands on.

I prefer to call them just MP, the MPM line is not on par with the 3p masterpieces.

MPM and MP are just as compromised as each other. It shouldn’t really matter what their faults are tho since name wise MPM simply means “Movie Masterpiece”. This is a figure from the movies, so it’s a MPM figure.

But they're based around the movies, so MPM, which is "Masterpiece Movie", is the appropriate term.

I disagree, most MPM figures are just ok compared to UT's or even the new AAT's figures. You can call them MPM, but I just call them masterpieces.

Those are still MPM’s. It’s just a name that specifies movie vs G1. That’s all those titles mean.

I have seen that from a quality and complexity point of view, the regular MP are superior to the MPM

People are upset (and rightly so) at all the QC issues their WW2 series has. Those figures should have been MPM size both to accommodate the engineering and just because I need that Bee, Hot Rod and Barricade at mom size. But I just looked at the thread again, and I'm not seeing anybody expecting them to go under. I don't recall a whole lot of issues with their bigger figures (the ones made at the scale they SHOULD be working at).

It was 1 post that said they were struggling financially. They didn’t post proof or elaborate anymore on it. Guess people just went with it.

Well by that logic, and considering AAT's track record, these should DEFINITELY be called MPM's

Lol kind of, but the new designs made by them are MP level not MPM. I hope some day the official MPMs will be better than what they are now...

Ah my bad, I remember that being posted by the one guy in the thread who kept sharing actual updates on the figure. Didn’t mean to spread misinformation.

given how much they shows off crowbar’s range of neck articulation and the nature of crankcases’ dreads I think he only has ‘screaming jaw’ articulation and the rest stays in place….

That's an unforgivable oversight, IMO. I don't even like it when a legends-class figure doesn't have neck articulation! It's a shame if true for this guy.

Yeah, it's unfortunate, but the good outweighs the bad.

I think it's just a problem of this particular prototype - in last pictures his head n "hair" are all one solid piece of plastic, that's why his head stuck and can't turn around, on the final product the dreads must be flexible (at least I hope so) and then he'll have neck articulation.
