I need that Blue Rumble to go with the Red Frenzy that we all already have.

 

The overall shape looks great to me, but

the gold on the chest should the same yellowish orange as the knees
the waist buttons should be the same color as his thighs and forearms
needs black holes at the end of his shoulder cannon
eject button should be the same color as his thighs and forearms

I agree with the colors you point out and is the same as with Prime. Between these two characters they were not colored white and is very clear that they use light gray which I still believe was used to represent the color of metal. So many people seem to see white and that's what they wanted so that's what we got. I'm as puzzled as anyone why gold plating was chosen for the frame. Even if that's one of the things they had to choose between toon or toy since both can't be options, why plating?! I think a more yellowish gold paint would have been a better choice to suit both looks. They also could have easily made the rockets removable and that would take care of both looks.

 

I'm hoping the second batch from showz comes in and ships soon. Getting jealous all these photos now.

I wouldn't say that TE-01 to MST's v2 Legends Prime is exactly an apples to apples comparison. V2 comes with everything MP-44 comes with so that would be the better comparison. I do agree that he's overpriced but TE-01, while a great figure, is pretty barebones in comparison.

Yeah, you're right. They definitely should've made his knees gold and his arms and legs silver. Can't expect them to get everything right. At least they did a kind of pearly metallic for the white/light grey parts.

As for the gold chrome being an odd choice...

... MP-13 should've had it too. And regarding those parts being the same colors, they never were the same color. It looked that way in the cartoon because you have to take shortcuts with the budget they had. Fanstoys mostly made the right decisions regarding color (like I said, they should've gone with silver and gold, not light grey and orange). They also should've smoked his window but that'll be easy enough to fix once ShowZ gets around to shipping mine (ordered the wave 2 just a couple days ago).

Silver looks trash on these figures which is why there’s no silver on MP-36 and why he’s better than than the others.

I think RP have nailed the colour choices as they like to homage certain elements from the original sources… except the buttons in robot mode could have matched the shiny white

 

The second batch came in and shipped already. Mine is stateside right now. There was the initial pre-order that sold out. Then a couple weeks ago, they had a second batch that's already shipped. Was there a third batch?

When using the pylons on Fibrir, I think the correct way is to have the arms upside down. Pull out the upper arm to rotate it. That's how FT shows him in the preview shots at least.

 

Have it sitting in my stack at tf source. Should ship soon. I need to see that frenzy in person to figure out if I’m sticking with the MMC ones or the FT ones

 

That is the way they have them. Well spotted. I just didn’t rotate. It was easier to take the pylons off and uncurl the arm rather than faff about with additional rotating. My excuse it was late when I took those photos.

I’m more concerned that Fibrir is gonna have knee issues with time due to the wanky leg mechanism when going between tape and bot mode. The knee joint will suffer with continual transforming between the two modes. I think I might just leave in bot mode to minimise wear and tear on those knee joints.

One leg on fibrir is looser than the other. I can sort that. I was more disappointed how easy it was to pop the legs and feet off.

The heft of the tape is nice as well as the paint apps/detail being premium.

Overall, I’m just meh on this tape.

After seeing this custom, it makes me REALLY want those same changes… the buttons I’m pretty sure you could remove and spray for an even coat, but that yellow would be hard to do smoothly for a non-expert painter… the insert I will definitely be recreating!



But when I look at this I go “THERE’S SOUNDWAVE!!”

 

Fix the shoulder cannon and that is an instant buy from me.

 

Just got mine in, and I'm incredibly impressed. Pretty much perfect imo.

However, I gotta ask, does anyone know if the lubricant FT/RP uses on their figures is non-toxic or not? My AW has quite a bit of it and I'm the type of person to have a bot on my desk and play around with it while touching my face, dealing with food, etc etc...

 

It's not toxic, but wash your hands before eating anything.

That's an interesting take. Silver looks trash... on robots. Well there's no accounting for taste. I'm just glad that they went with a metallic pearly white instead of a boring one. I'm a sucker for pearl.
