I don’t even have a problem with the alt mode.

The only thing I have a problem is the gun plugs into the side. Wish there was a more... symmetrical? place for it.

Otherwise this be awesome.

 

He looks better than a lightpost lol. The bot mode is absolutely on point! Cannot waiiitzzz

 

I’d like to see a 3P use this as a model for an old school Cylon Raider TF.

From the right angle, his altmode looks like one of the aliens from Space Invaders.

Soundwave didn't even transform in the movie so why is everyone getting so bothered by the alt mode? Who cares lol.

 

It looks like it’s mostly the anti g1 crowd. The usual suspects.

 

The alt mode reminds me of the Rock Lord, Granite. Anyway, looking forward to this guy.

Soundwave is us all.

 

Totally a hover vehicle. I kinda love it actually. It reminds me of one of my favorite Star Wars ships, the snowspeeder.

 

Excellent Hover / drone alt-mode

 

That \"vehicle\" mode is so lazy.  I know Cybertronian vehicles don\'t have to match earth ones, but DANG is that lazy, it doesn\'t even have proper compaction, there\'s a lot of open areas.  They just threw that in to make it a Transformer, in title.

 

I don't mind SW alt-mode at all especially since it's a homage to the old GI Joe X TF comic design. Makes more sense than a walkman in Cybertron.

It would be cooler if Hasbro added a 5MM peg or two on the top side of Soundwave's alt-mode so other figures w/ 5mm holes in their feet can attach to to really make SW a proper Cybertronian hover craft/board.

 

Seeing it from a side profile I def get more of that scifi fighter ship vibe that we all assumed this was going for.

Still not sure if it completely works. If you're gonna do a fake chest cockpit thing, why not try and make it look just a little more like an actual cockpit then just a vaguely off variation of his robot chest? Maybe make the segments of the windows angle down a bit more, ya know? Like at a slope. Just that little extra push that at a glance would make it a lot more clear that this is in fact a spaceship form.

I actually sort of like the alt mode. The product photography made it look bad, but the side profile looks awesome actually. It looks like Soundwave took on the altmode of some sort of evil snowspeeder. Really a pleasent surprise that the altmode wasn\'t nearly as bad as I thought it would be. Still has too many gaps though.

 

I thought of this too but in a good way. Really like this Soundwave Alt.

 

Looks so much better in these photos. And I think he would look better without his shoulder cannon in alt mode or it in a better spot

His bot mode looks great. But that Alt Mode is less than inspired.
