Hey, so since G1 and MP cassettes about are the same size, are there third party versions that improve the G1s? Maybe they can be added to the list as MP substitites? Maybe even the G1 tapes can be added under "alternatively"? Too bad Robot Paradise's Acoustic Wave doesn't work with most (any?) other brand tapes. At least vice versa works.

 

There are already several tapes released from third parties like KFC and MMC. In fact, KFC announced they are doing a version 2 of Ramhorn. Hopefully, others will follow. MMC's are out of scale in tape mode but work in bot mode. I don't list any G1 in this guide because it's a list of MP representations of G1.

 

I know, but I just thought an exception could be made for (some?) of the tapes, since they are the same size.

 

I understand. I'll consider it if we never get certain characters, but most of G1 are bricks lol

 

is this a KO or bigger version of studio series 38 Optimus prime? I like the truck mode just wish it was bigger

Y'know what would be cool? If some third party could design an upgrade that turns Hoodlum (Hot Rod) into Rodimus Prime. It would consist of a trailer (of course) that fits over Hoodlum's vehicle mode as well as extenders to make him as tall as MP44. He already has the Rodimus face, so there's that.

 

X-transbots will be doing one with his Almost Human fugurine. They're doing it for Springer and Ultra Magnus. Fans Toys will probably..make their Hot Rodimus Prime and blow away XTB's.

 

Nah.. Hoodlum is a train wreck that needs to go back to scratch.

 

cool idea, but I'd be terrified that it would scratch up all the paint, though.

 

not a trainwreck, it was just an older design that didn't really meet today's standards as far as articulation. still looks amazing on a shelf.
