Here's a review that includes all three. Youtube's CC with the auto-translate helps a bit since this review is in Spanish. You definitely get good side by side comparisons for those that are still curious about how these stack up.

    You forgot the link lol.

As to Reximus, back then I didn't think that I'd complete the dinobot team so I went ahead and got it from Terry real cheap. After handling and enjoying it for some time I couldn't stop at just Grimlock so I started collecting GP dinos one by one. And that was it. I was no longer content with Reximus so I decided to get their leader in GP aesthetics as soon as it was gonna released. I liked him in prototype stages and was expecting his throne which sadly didn't come to fruition. After they released him for some reason I couldn't justify replacing Reximus. Thought it had only minor improvements over KO minus paint and a few details like shoulders. So I postponed him for a long long time. Believe it or not it's been only a few days since I got Superator from Talos. I'm glad I got him finally after all these years. It really is leaps better than Ko. And it's not just paintjob. Joints and plastics alone have plnety of improvements. Plus it's rock solid compared to KO which is fiddly as hell. The only pro I'd give to Reximus is it's quick and easy transformation which is owed to Takara.

In the end Reximus is a fun toy but not a true MP like Superator or Grinder for that matter.

    That makes no sense.

It's a MP figure all day every day, considering it's literally the official Takara MP supersized. It's just a (very) dated MP, in the shoulder articulation at least.

The original is too small to be considered MP and it's just an oversized version of small guy. Same reason why MP1, Final Victory or Igear bots are not being counted as MP. The only thing it has common with MP line is it's size. So I disagree with your statement about it being dated MP.

No link, but thanks for letting me know. I picked Cacus instead.

Seriously, Grimlock needs a version 2.0. The actual transformation is fine, but the size, articulation, and some of the weird sculpting need to be updated. They can build on the SS86 toy and fix some of the flaws and it would be perfect.

I wouldn't mind 2.0 especially one similar to Takara's latest toon centric aesthetics. Don't think it would be hard to accomplish since dinobots transformation scheme is similar overall.

Congrats on Cacus. As IDW Grimlock he looks perfect!

I've been thinking about picking GP Grimlock. I've got all of the other GP dinos. I like that Reximus Prime's dino mode looks more like toon Grimlock in terms of shape and stature. Reximus displays nice with XTB Wheelie. GP Grimlock shines in robot mode because it's a bit more updated (articulation etc.) and it's got GP unique detailing. I agree that an updated OS MP-08 (2.0) might come out on top as long they don't change a lot about dino mode. If Reximus Prime's shoulders in robot mode were a little bit lower, I probably wouldn't be considering GP Grimlock. Owning both is an option too, though it may not be budget friendly.

That's what I ended up doing. Superator is displayed with other GP dinos while Reximus stands in dino mode next to likes of MP10 and older bare plastic MPs.

Does anyone know if Reximus is still being produced? I was only able to find overpriced 2nd hand ones, and there's a listing on aliexpress (all silver chrome version, with no gold). I was just curious since someone in this thread said they were deciding between Reximus and the others, and only posted a few months back.

I'm a new collector and have a lot of catching up to do, lol. Fantoys would be my preference, but the 2nd hand prices are insanity. Not really digging the aesthetics of Gigapower. It's also just too tall for my small collection, both small in number and size (the biggest bots I have are Megatron and TE01...so I get the feeling GP would just look weird, towering over everyone.) From the G1 cartoon, the FT also looks to have the right scaling. Prime's head, just below Grimlocks chin.

Anyway, it's curious that only 2 third parties have tackled all 5 dinobots in MP style. I always thought they were one of the most popular characters. Hoping Takara decides to do a MP Grimlock 2.0, or XTB does something.
