well that was fast. i am glad MFT hasn't missed a beat yet.

Going by memory it seems somehow different from the MST one. Smaller body? Bigger head?

 

Sniper gun is a nice addition, although the color choice is questionable. I like the way the MS original sizes up in my collection, but interested to see how OS this really this.

 

looks the same to me other than the new face and the gun.

i am interested in the sniper rifle but i am not sure it warrants me picking the bot up.

 

Just the red weapon is not going to be enough for me. Missed opportunity to give him an IDW head.

Also proportions are a bit weird, head to small maybe?

The pins on the front of his neck/chest/collarbone need to be either pushed in more or painted. I never noticed them on any of picture for MS Deadly but here it's all I see. And shorten the neck ball joint a smidge.

 

Well, glad I didn't cave and pay Magic Square prices. I'll buy this in a heartbeat.

 

Few things stand out compared to the MS ver. Head sits really high. The upper forearms at the joint are lacking paint. New face sculpt. The blue sits between the teal that toy was and the gray/blue of the toon.

 

Wish they’d taken the opportunity to scale up the scope just a little. I think the robot mode would look fine with it slightly bigger, and the microscope mode still looks just as dopey as MS’ with the tiny little scope.

Hm, wonder if I could give the scope to the MS version…

 

Magic square's headsculpt looks better.

 

happy for those who are interested in this who perhaps missed out on the original MS or wanting this for legends +, but i'm glad i snagged the original MS version as i prefer the smaller size with respect to my collection.

but something does looks off with the MFT head, looks kind of too small in the photos. i'd love to get a sniper riffle. but yeah, why all red???  

but the one thing they could easily have fixed which looks like they didn't are the dark "nipples".  

for once…  

 

They did this with the Magnus and grapple molds, changed the faces and they aren’t as good as the originals (I noticed because I have bothered versions)…Not sure why.

 

i think the magnus and grapple face sculpts are much better on MFT than the original MS. MS has stepped up their face sculpt game recently so their perceptor is significantly better than those two early prior examples.

 

Well, maybe MFT will make a black Microchange version, since MS seems unwilling...

 

Did MFT forget to upscale the head?

 

The fact that he comes with a sniper rifle is enough to make me trade in my MST version for this guy.
