Showz is now showing they have to open the boxes and remove the batteries for shipping, just a heads up
I wonder with all the Megatron pistol figures that have come out if any would actually fit in his hands.
Mine just arrived. So far so good. Definitely feels pretty light for its size, but lots of ratchets and tight joints. Here's a quick pic with Omega Supreme for size comparison. And gun mode with cybertronian Bumblebee and MMC Rung; It’s big. There’s another 6 or 7 inches of barrel off to the left. The little rubber bullets fire pretty well. Not a huge amount of force, but enough that I need to go hunting for one down the back of a radiator already. Transformation is pretty straight forward, and quite clever for how well it hides the robot mode. The barrel is aluminium, by the feel of it, and the scope has a lens in it (sure, a not great plastic lens, but it’s a nice gimmick all the same). Bot mode has a decent amount of articulation, though it’s a little top heavy, so it can take a bit of fiddling to get him to balance sometimes. Fully articulated hands are a nice bonus, too. My only real complaint is that I’d maybe have preferred more coloured plastic and less paint, as some parts are definitely going to rub with transformation and general play, and the paint application overall is just fine rather than perfect - small details/lettering etc are done well, but in the larger areas there’s a couple of little blemishes here and there, but really nothing too bad for something that is basically a transforming nerf gun. All in all, I’m very happy for the £60 it cost me. Now I need to work out where to put it…
Yeah, mine arrived today also (the white one). The review by fwestivus above pretty much nailed it. Quality is fine, especially considering this was made by a ko company with no real history of original figures, it’s pretty nice for a first go round. Plastic is light but feels solid and clunky. Fit and finish is fine, parts snap together well, nothing’s loose. Definitely feels like a more expensive figure. The grip on the underside is coated with a rubbery plastic, which feels nice. I think if this had slightly weightier plastic, a bit of die cast in the legs/feet, slightly better bot mode proportions, and a box with ‘MMC’ or ‘Fanshobby’ written on it then people would be lauding this figure to the heavens. As it is, it’s just a very good, playable toy, which seems excellent value for the price. Just as an aside, my copy (from Show Z) had been opened and the battery removed. Reckon the retailer did it themselves to get the thing through customs.
Well... @Ryan F and MAYBE everybody else....NBK may or may not be a company who used to go by the possible initials of WJ. I don't know what WJ stands for though. Just a HUGE maybe though.
WJ and NBK existed independently before the WJ shutdown. And if you ever handled NBK and WJ KOs you'd know there's no way they were the same company. The quality levels were lightyears apart. Always possible that NBK hired on some ex-WJ folks, though.
@The Happenin Rhinoceros There was always a suggested association...I always like to flame the embers of imagination. When WJ was still FULLY around and people said this and that and the association with NBK and possibly Lubo. It's also my wishful thinking and knowing that WJ also did full on KOs at the lowest end of the quality scale to cover the entire spectrum (most of us in the West haven't experienced that full spectrum, I might buy a few and do some vids). Once I get mine in hand I'll be able to imagine, wonder and ponder some more. ALSO if the BA OP ever sees the light of day in it's pseudo reissue.
Mine just arrived! What a beast! Transformation is simple enough, but wow did I pinch my fingers so many times. Everything has been solid. HOWEVER, there seems to be an issue with my trigger/firing mechanism. Not sure if any of you guys also have this problem, but it seems that the bar that's attached to the trigger is slightly too short (or the catch itself is slightly too long) and pulling the trigger completely back in gun mode isn't enough to fire it. I have to manually push the bar forward in order for the plunger to actually fire. Is this an issue that any of you guys are facing? I wonder if taking it apart and filing down the catch would solve this. I'm also not that big of a fan of the sword/barrel weapon. Honestly, all the other pieces work great and can be fitted on bot mode, but the barrel is just way too heavy. The sword really doesn't do anything when in gun mode, and I kinda wish that they found a way to make the barrel be a decent weapon on its own instead of having to combine with the sword.
I posted 2 pages back about a firing issue reported by a China reviewer, not sure if it's the same thing you have. Did you buy from China retail or local? If China, I was wondering how this can pass customs here in SG.
Ok, this is my issue: The trigger acts as a lever and pushes in the bar to release the catch. However, for whatever reason, the bar on mine doesn't get pushed in enough to release it. It only fires when I go and push the bar manually. I'm thinking of opening it up and filing down the catch.
Different issue. It's not that the bullet can't leave the barrel due to a lack of air pressure, the trigger doesn't activate the mechanism.
