Yay, my Findus Crispy Bumblebee has arrived from IDT today and also Flame Toys DIY Rodimus from C&C - will put Roddy away for something to build over Christmas.

In other news, YotG Laser Optimus Prime is still alive (finally remembered to brake him out of his packaging to take the batteries out before they rot away) and he's also still super shiny. Apologies for the grainy pictures.

Mcog I thought was really poor and pretty boring. I remember the golden bird vehicle being in it way more, but it seems my memories were playing games on me.

Awesome, so many memories of climbing down my stairs head first as a child, it was fun.

This lil guy arrived today. There was a moment towards the end of the transformation into alt mode where everything clicks into place that definitely brought a smile to my face. Just adorable.

I think this was one of the first weekly cartoon series I remember watching as a nipper, this was before the big surge of TF, He-man etc.

Was very odd even as a child and i still have an odd memory of someone getting trapped in a giant flower that has stayed with me for over 40 years

I am very very tired but I totally saw Santa Claus on that figures chest the first 5 times I saw this post…..

 

Kapow being a safer posting/packaging bet than Smyth's reliance on fecking Hermes makes this option a much better one. Hermes "lost" my cheapo Revelations bundle and it's taken 12 days for Smyth's to refund.

The fact that Kapow didn't even put up Wave 2 for pre-order and have "dumped" MMA and Beast Man straight into the Sale isn't a great sign for the Line's longevity in the UK. I'm snapping up what I can get pre-ordered at Toysarama and CollectableKingdoms while I still can.

Typical Mattel really, they finally got Origins to be a hit, and instead of repeating that successful formula for 6" collectors like me with the Masterverse, they fuck it up to the point they may have killed it within three Waves.

What a good job I still have Hasbro/Transformers to eat my wallet still.

Everything about that first wave was overall a weird way to go. You were always gonna get He-Man and Skeletor but the design choices were crap between blondie's mush and Skelly's armour. And the devotion to the show meant 'nice little accessories' were cut like the traditional axe and purple sword, but you got a shaping staff nobody cared about. Yet Faker gets his orange armour just to fill out the insane price point...

Evil Lyn was pretty much perfect but essentially paired with cameo character Moss Man instead of show lead Teela. WTF. My guess is the archaic belief that female figures don't sell, so you only get one per wave won out there. Even then Teela shoulda arrived first.

That's before fan favourites like Faker, Trap-Jaw and Tri-Klops are hidden behind £35 paywalls and the show's reception likely hurt other sales just going into wave 2. Oh, and whoever does Mattel's publicity photos needs fired. Yesterday.

Ideally wave 1 would have arrived just after that Hero trailer and wave 2 around the show itself. But let's be honest, they're struggling to provide the figures even for the kiddie version, so...

 

She's doing well, thanks for asking. Back to her usual cheery self for the most part, though does get a bit tired still from time to time.


Ark in smyths for 105? Tempting for that, but got no space for it so pass. If netflix soundwave pops up, that would be very tempting.

Very happy that I have found some work, because now there's no pressure to sell on what looks like being a lot of fun - and the simple rules will be in its favour because I'm more likely to get players. Now waiting to see if they republish the other expansions - The Dark Company and Against The Ogre Horde, plus the US only ones. They've already announced a mini expansion pack with a new player-character, the Knight, so I am hopeful...
