man i kinda want shin thrusters for this thing. it looks so good on the MT. too bad the only way to attach them would also be temporary bluetac some kind of adhesive/glue. hope somebody makes em.

 

Picked up some dry rub insignias for this guy’s wings… really completes the classic ‘Screamer look!

 

Well, my brother surprised me with this tonight:

I wasn't expecting it at all, or at least so soon.

First Decepticon Masterpiece figure and this guy is awesome. However it's pretty hard to get his null rays into his shoulder and I'm terrified to apply too much pressure. Anyone got some advice in how to get them in?

 

Silicone shock oil. Works like a charm.

 

Available at a Home Depot or Lowes? Also, what would be used for application? A brush?

 

I got mine at ace hardware but I think that any hardware store has it. I just squeezed a drop on the peg of the null ray and twisted it in.

 

I sanded them down. Even with oil, there's the risk of stressing the pegholes so I preferred to remove the stress.

 

I'm gutted I had to send mine back to TF-Direct because of a gouge on the front of the thigh and a crush box.

Those c#### made me pay return postage and, even with the PayPal compensation, I lost money.

Shame Kapow wasn't selling it.

 

TFS-Express/Omegalock got it in stock - sold out now though I'm afraid.

Has anyone done a kit or a fix for the visible canopy face yet? Really don't want to have to cover the inside with paint if I don't have to.

 

I just scraped the paint off with a Stanley knife. Once the paint is off, just slides straight in. Just the right tightness.

And it does look so good, next to the other SS I have, it does look so good in hand !!

Even better than the pictures !!

 

So after about a month on the shelf in robot mode, I transformed him for the first time back and forth.
1. Paint seems to have held up, no issues. I had been worried about that and I manhandled this thing pretty roughly, so that's good.
2. Robot to Jet was alright. Got stuck and had to re-watch some videos for a few parts, but otherwise not terrible.
3. Jet to Robot...that was a bit of a disaster. Got stuck, had to re-re-watch the videos...plus now my finger is bleeding.

That'll be the only time I transform him. I think it's enough just knowing the option is there.

i think i saw your display on another thread. maybe on facebook. Im digging the g1 next to the masterpiece and how you did it! Havent really liked how others did it but you nailed it.
It also reminds me how much i FKN HATED THOSE EYE STICKERS

 

The eye stickers are honestly THE WORST!!
I’m glad so many people like the display!! When I designed the room I originally planned to display MP and G1 in their own areas (mostly because MP didn’t have many characters out at the time) … but then I started messing with it and fell in love!

Really debating getting this but the paint issues as well as it being flat matte paint just doesn't do it for me. What I really want is this in metallic and I'll pay whatever amount for it (same for the other seekers).

Anyone have a good guess on if they release this in some fancy shmancy metallic finnish? From what I know they didn't do metallic for prime or Mirage but I was never really up to date on those two.

 

I wonder if Deformation Space will hit their target of late December for Thundercracker and Skywarp.

With December on the horizon, I am hoping THIS isn't an example of a finished product in terms of chest 'accent' color... because there are none.

I also cant tell if the chest color is a very light grey or white?



Guess I shouldn't trust pre-product promo-images. I mean, for all I know, the above image is a digi-bash from Crimson Wings.

Still... I really hope I don't need to take sharpy and gundam markers to make his chest vents and accents look like this.



But what scares me is that on the official... the square chest vents, and three slit 'accent' vents are basically no darker than the rest of the grey chest.



Am I wrong that the two squares on the side of the cockpit should be charcoal (like the color on his arms) or maybe even black?
...same with the slit accents??
