Well I would like a Masterpiece G1 Devcon, but it's never going to happen when Takara keeps cranking out the 1984 guys again and again.

But you do realize that most people are going to want an MP Prime or Megatron vs Devcon, right? Like in the TF Fanbase most people aren’t going to even know who Devcon is.

Honestly, it's the shareholders and the CEO salaries, and there's a lot I could say but I'd be breaking Rule 3 if I got into it.

    So, I'll just say this:

Most of these companies can afford to make better products and to pay all of their workers well. They just don't, because that's not the priority of a publicly traded corporation in this world at this point in time, and that sucks.

Yeah he seems pretty interesting. Definitely think he should be in the mainline before masterpiece, though.

Wait, are we all talking about the same Devcon? The only one I know is the G1 blue/red bounty hunter. I thought he was a well-known character. Didn’t they even re-mold a Scourge figure into him?

I wouldn't exactly call a character who has only showed up in (to my knowledge) one episode of the g1 cartoon and a couple of TFCC/Botcon stories well known.

I mean regardless of how well known he is he’s still not as popular as Prime/ Megatron/ Starscream/ Soundwave so I don’t think he’d take either of their spots in MP. Not opposed to him getting a figure but I don’t think it’s as likely as the rest of the main show cast. As for figures there was a Botcon set that had him remolded from Scourge. So nothing mainline. Definitely don’t think think it’s impossible for him to get a figure but I wouldn’t hold my breath, you know? I also think it’s much more likely he’d take up a spot in CHUG than masterpiece. I guess I could see him getting a + MP release if they make a Scourge but I don’t think he’d get a brand new mold.

He was a one-episode character in G1 with 0 toys released of him. There were plans to use, like, Energon Slugslinger for a Botcon repaint I think, but no, no actual Devcon toys

Edit: okay so there was a stealth bomber Scourge repaint in the 2014 botcon I was unaware of

I never said he deserved an MP figure— only that I didn’t think he was very obscure. Besides, he probably had more screen time and more dialogue than Skids, who is getting both a new mainline figure and an MP.

To be fair, he was a good character and I'd like a decent GS version of him.

While it's true that he had more screentime then Skids in the cartoon, Skids has still made more frequent appearances in comics, toys, and movies (yes I hate the RoTF version, but he still counts as skids). But Devcon on the other hand hasn't done much of anything outside of the cartoon.

Skids is a diaclone mold and is a popular car in Japan, so him getting an MP has little if anything to do with the show or comic.

Given that seemingly 99% of folks on here feel Sunbow was the third Testament, I would assume the cartoon carries a lot of weight.

Personally, I love Skids and wouldn’t have cared if he had appeared in the cartoon or comic at all, because I simply love the Diaclone-derived TFs. Devcon was fine for what he was, but I’m really only interested in the toys… which is why I wouldn’t mind if they made one of him.

My real point was that he wasn’t obscure. He wasn’t prevalent by any measure, but most G1 TF fans know the character.

He's about as 'known' as Powerglide's human girlfriend, Seaspray's mermaid girlfriend, or that dashing rogue that was courting Marissa Fairbourne.

I can honestly say I don’t know who they are, but I remember Devcon well.

I'm actually the opposite... I remember those episodes, but Devcon.. not at all, I had to look it up to go... "oh yeah... that episode".

Then again, the last season was to me the poorest one that was all about cleaning up the mess that the movie made of things and everything seemed more through in to distract than actual episodic stories. The level of animation errors probably didn't help set my brain to the "off" position when I watched then last.

I'm pretty sure that Devcon only appeared in season 2.
