The little steering wheel is adorable and also a nice step above the "panel" that the two cars got. I also absolutely adore the rear compartment for storing the helmet. It'd be nice if it actually pegged in, but even if it's loose in there, it's still a great way to deal with extra parts. I used to throw PMOP's super mode head in the trailer in alt mode, and I know a lot of other people did that too.

 

Has anyone seen the transformation for this toy? I would be tempted to do a non-Headmaster head swap on it, but it doesn’t look like there is a compartment to allow for a permanent head.

 

I'm honestly not picking a fight here, but I've been a Fans Hobby... fan for a while now and I think you're maybe looking at this from the wrong angle. FH started out making MP scale bots of lesser known variants like RiD Scourge and G2 Optimus, moved on to MP-scale Monsterbots(!), and then got kind of famous making the best of breed god ginrai and overlord, both of which are fairly expensive. The headmasters junior were them trying to make cheaper / more accessible entry level toys.


They're still working on Energon Optimus, which will be $200+ easily as well as Armada Megs / Tital Wave / Overload which will be plenty pricey.

I look at it more like this:

Fanstoys makes G1-styled, diecast heavy bots for collectors where price is no object.

Fanshobby makes a much broader selection of stuff, mostly plastic, extremely high quality, where the scale means that even an "affordable" MP Overlord or God Ginrai or Armada Optimus is $200+

 

I look at Fans Hobby as the company willing to make what you want because no one else really will. Who on Earth thought of Unicron Trilogy MPs? No one but the fans. We've always heard whispers here and there of a maybe on this character or that one, but nothing concrete. FH comes along is all "Oh, yeah? Dreams come to life? Here you go."

After Naval Commander I'd 100% rather wait another month or two so they get it right the first time.

That being said, the minute I open up Meg-Tyrano they're going to announce a variant in Armada Galvatron colors.

 

They did a good job catching a defect in Ace Hitter, even though it meant delaying him a month

Guess we can take that as a hope they've learned from their mistake.

 

Considering NC was their first major QC mistake, and ever release after hasn't had any big issues, I think Tyranno will be fine.

Any talk of a toy version like Siren/Red Buzzer?

This is a more curious one. In both NA and Japan, the toy has the grey parts.

The anime made those parts white.

Maybe if there's decent sales of Buzzer

Already know about him, but already have Ace plus 3 versions of the Minerva mold.

Still considering him, since Ace is quite an good

 

Also worth noting they sent out most of the entire cab of NC as replacement parts to fix the issues with him, rather than just ignore the issue or blame heavy-handedness for the issues.

 

Weird that KAP's headmaster has white arms and the one that came with God Bomber were dark grey/gun metal. Options are good?

 

Maybe he'll match American Hosehead
