Call him what you will, I love that design & have been waiting for this figure to be made for a long time. I hope the details to be announced on the 25th don't turn out to be "Premium Bandai release".
Unlikely for an entirely new Godzilla but also a non-issue as they all get Bluefin domestic releases anyway. Go look at how many figures of this line were or are exclusive: S.H.MonsterArts(エス・エイチ・モンスターアーツ)の商品一覧 | 魂ウェブ
Eh 62, 64, 01, and ultima were all entirely new and exclusive so its not unlikely 04 will be to. But like you say it'll most likely still get a bluefin release I do hope a godzilla 71 and a monster x follows though.
Space Godzilla seems like a wild choice for 3rd release in the line looking back lol. I didn't realize Biollante was first relesed in 2013 also, 8 years for the reissue, I'm more patient than I thought haha
Biogoji is here... Finally!!. Not surprised by the poor painting quality... Spines are decent... But claws, nails, teeth, mouth and eyes.... Meh.
I seemed to fare quite well in the dental department with my Bio-Goji, after eight years of waiting finally getting to sit next to a Biollante. Honestly, I hadn't remembered Ultima was an exclusive until after I checked the link myself right after posting this morning. I don't like Hedo-Goji that much but wouldn't hate getting one, plenty of optional parts like holding the balls, the acid burnt parts, and you gotta throw in a flight stand right?! Bluefin didn't release the first two exclusives - the first Godzilla effects set and Garuda - and some stuff in 2017-18 between licensing weirdness with Shin/Earth and trying to push people to the first incarnation of the US Bandai Premium site. We'll get Godzilla 2004. The beginning of SHMA leaned so heavily into Heisei, plus the shared engineering, it made a lot of sense. That one of the few unmade Heisei era kaiju is non-fire Rodan of all things is silly.
Maybe wait for it to be out and in people's hands before you insist it's already messed up? It looks fine so far. And who honestly expected Hedorah to be coming, like, ever?
Of course it looks fine so far, they always do. And then you get them and the joints fall off, the eyes are derpy, and something else goes wrong with it.
The line is officially 10 years old. We've had enough bad experiences to get a little skeptical regarding new releases.
Geez, Shinobi you really got some badass pictures at the end of this doc and sure mine is there too looking alright as well. As for Hedorah is concern I get why @Dr Kain is saying about you know the qc and stuff, still I'm going to a bit optimistic since heck Hedorah is finally getting the SHMA treatment.
I started this thread, I’ve been on board with the line since day one, IMO the hits definitely outnumber the misses, but we have also had more of the latter in recent years which doesn’t help perception. My biggest concern with Hedorah will be the materials it’s made from, but otherwise I don’t yet have a reason for concern.
I don’t fault Kain for being negative…I was here when this thread started and if Chosen didn’t start this thread, I probably would have started it! LOL! But this line has done serious QC issues. I can understand if they mess up Gojira’s eyes (side view) but to mess up the latest Kong’s eyes is really something as they “straight on”. Yeah, that’s why I always rush down to my import stores when the stock is in…I need to check for Derry eyes! The ideas are excellent but IMO the execution is really lacking. It’s been like 10 years and Bandai can’t eradicate the derpy eye shows the lack of commitment and pride…something I’m surprised. I used to work with Japanese companies and they are/were meticulous at work.
You know if Hedorah's eyes looks like he's high as a kite than well would sorta work I mean he did use that smokestack as a bong you know. LOL
LOL! That was a good one! I totally forgot about that one! By the way, I recall you got some 3rd party heads for SH Monsterarts Kong. Where did you order them from, and was the quality of the materials good?
