Okay, not really the thread for sticker discussion but... Are reprolabels fairly durable? As in they don't curl or anything over time?
I've had them on my siege ratchet and barricade since shortly after release and they still look like the day I put them on. Now that is obviously only about 2 years maybe they do over a longer period but so far I'm very happy with the results.
I peel them off the sheet and apply them with a scalpel and use a paintbrush to ensure all the corners and edges are adhered. I find the process rather meditative. I've been using them for several years (since Combiner Wars) and each of the sets I have applied still look great, but I don't handle my figures frequently, which is likely a factor for durability. They are miles ahead of factory applied stickers in quality, and better than anything Hasbro includes on a sticker sheet. I find them easy to apply and forgiving if you have to peel them up a couple times to get it right. Good lighting is a must.
Got my artfire today from gamestop! After work I'm gonna apply toyhax labels and then I'll post a pic!
Regarding toyhax labels and how long they last, i messaged patriot prime on one of his video reviews and asked him: Whats the oldest set of toyhax labels you have? and how are they holding up? He said his g1 sixshot got toyhax labels applied on it in 2012, and he said they still look just like the day he put them on. Sorry just wanted to throw that out there, I'm really pumped to get Artfire all done up tonight. Will probably take 90 mins or so but I'll Def post a few pics tonight!
I've used Reprolabels for years, and have never had any problems with curling. Hasbro's own stickers, on the other hand.... (Disclaimer: the post by the person who's had problems specifically mentioned Prime figures. I don't think I've ever bought Reprolabels for toys that recent, so it's possible that more modern stickers... or stickers for more modern toys... could well be different)
Getting Artfire has got me on a Target Master kick so I did research on all the G1 targets masters We have Artfire, and Stepper, I have Selects one. I do hope the SS jazz mold gets repainted as him. Have scoop, need his two buddies landfill and quick mix. Have Crosshairs but we’re missing point blank and sureshot. We got Slugslinger trigger happy and misfire then we got spinister and quake although quake doesn’t have his targetmasters and was just a repaint in TR. just need a proper needle nose for that set. Very interesting how they’ve released some of them over the years and who still needs a figure
Didn't get to the labels for artfire tonight, my XTB V2 Locke came in today as well. So I spent most the night with that figure. Hopefully will get artfire labeled up tomorrow night.
No worries, I wanted to do my next Transformers review tonight, but I need to get up early for work tomorrow.
>never cared about Artfire. >Suddenly realize that he looks like Blockhead, and would be an easy custom.
I'm always amazed by your finding Gobots in these molds! I was just thinking the other day about how Legacy Bulkhead could potentially make a good Fly Trap.
So, I was able to get Artfire from a local collector store, Renegade Toys. (They ship anywhere in the US if anyone's interested.) I'm very surprised and impressed with his tolerances. Normally, I'd be expecting a mold being abused this often would start to degrade. But, no! If anything, he's sturdier than Grapple and Inferno. Perhaps a tad too tight on some joints and spots. Scary. Paint apps leave something to be desired and I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'll want some Reprolabels for him. *sigh* The Targetmaster is meh but fine. For $35, it's a solid pair of figures. For $40, you're really pushing it. For anything above that, you'll feel ripped off.
Here's my two Shanix on it Artfire/inferno/grapple are good figures. Solid. No real issues with the two I have opened. Nothing wrong with them. They look good But.... They aren't particularly exciting. Transformation is straightforward enough. Nothing bold or exciting about it. There is no wow factor. They do the job. You know who these characters are but there is nothing exciting about them. I do love the characters but the figures are just kinda meh... Nothing wrong just not particularly striking or interesting enough with them.
I would like to see Quake and Crosshairs get their own unique molds. Point Blank and Sureshot also need to happen, but I really want updates of Quickmix and Landfill. The Autobots didn't really have much in the way of construction vehicles (at least ones with earth modes) and that seems like a strange gap for a "heroic" faction. Grapple was really all they had until those 1988 targetmasters came along. +-MWG-+
