Gen 5 definitely benefited from the main Pokémon game’s move to 3D starting from X/Y.

Other games include the older console Pokémon games (I.e. Colloseum and XD).

That was probably an extreme reaction you’re not wrong, my point was I don’t want to be battling online and every random person is using the same team, if we can get a balance of that and rotate around who gets in each gen I’d be content

    Is this competitively?

Cause dude, trust me, no matter how the dex changes, people will always use the exact same Pokemon for teams if they can.

Once a Pokemon is competively viable it will always be continously bred by players to be so.

I'm still of the opinion that if they had put more time/effort into the games, we could have had every Pokemon CODED into Sword and Shield, and just had it so those not native to Sword and Shield be only useable for offline or local stuff. Like online/competitive would have coding or rules that only allowed the Galar Dex Pokemon to be used.

So more like Sun and Moon in that regards. Every Pokemon is coded in, so if you want you can trade your 'unavailable' ones to play the new game with, but then they should revamp the online system to only allow for whatever Pokemon wants to allow. Like I understand they may want to do stuff with what is just available in the new games but that shouldn't mean I can't use 'x' Pokemon when I don't even do competitive or online battles any way whatsoever.

I guess this is what happens when Gamefreak doesn’t believe that the switch wouldn’t be a success…. Fucking plebs….

eh it was more the Pokemon Company with that statement, with Gamefreak just being use to DS technology and needing a huge learning curve for making console games.

Reminder Gamefreak just makes the games, Nintendo funds them and the Pokemon Company controls their development time and release schedule.

The only problem Gamefreak is behind is just having a small studio, because if bigger it possibly could fix most problems players have.

But I also support their right having what they believe to be a cohesive team and not wanting to lose time having to train newbies to be what everyone there does well to understand to begin with.

    Oh btw

The Pokémon Battle Festival Asia 2021 has been announced for Asian markets including Malaysia, Singapore, the Phillipines, Thailand, Taiwan and more. This event will have special showcases of Pokémon Legends Arceus, as well as a tournament in Pokémon Brilliant Diamond & Shining Pearl, a UNITE showcase and competitive elements for Pokémon GO and Pokémon Trading Card Game. This will be in various events starting with GO qualifiers on November 26th running up playoffs in February and beyond. We'll provide any further details as they come

I think people forget that Gamefreak only has like 175 employees. People have to remember that not everyone who works there does game development. Compared to other big name AAA studios Gamefreak is really small.

They're not even AAA, really. They make have a lot of money coming in (after Nintendo and the Pokemon Company take their cuts), but they clearly don't have the biggest budgets as far as spending.

And honestly, I'm fine with GameFreak being the size they are. Being successful doesn't mean they have to "go big" and become a massive corporation spending unreasonable amounts of money on individual games, despite the opinions of armchair CEOs. I think plenty of studios and companies in general have made the mistake of massively expanding when they make something popular, then collapsing under their own weight when people move on from their products for one reason or another.

The development time between games has also been shrinking over the years, giving Game Freak less and less time to work on them. And we know they had some issues they struggled with during the development of SW/SH. They had to make some sacrifices in order to keep to the development schedule, otherwise they would have had to extensively lengthen the development time (according to comments from Junichi Masuda). Maintaining a small cohesive team that knows what they're doing and does what they do well is great in theory... But when the quality of the games starts to suffer for it, then the company should be looking for solutions to maintain the level of quality they've achieved, rather than sacrificing elements of the games. Expanding the company a bit might be one such solution.

I’d say this is part of my problem with them. The names are fine, but almost everything else about these games just feels like a departure from what previous remakes have been like.
I think that could be possible. You don't have to give every Pokemon an entry (or you could just take from another game).

The only problem I see is with movepools.
Pretty much. TPC seems to be the main problem. Musada hasn't been helping either.

My friend started a save a little while back, got past the third gym and now has their heart set on an Alolan Marowak from the GTS on Home because they don't yet have the DLC. Also wanting a Tyrunt. Not sure if this is even possible, but could someone maybe give them a hand? They bred Sobbles only to realize that now Kanto and Galar starters are pretty common. That said they're willing to search for or breed different Pokémon.

I'd be willing to help. Dunno how communication would work though.

Thanks for the offer. The last thing they posted to the GTS was a Litwick in search of a level 21-30 female Marowak. There's also friend codes on Home's mobile app which I can have them send me and give to you.

If anybody else ordered them from Amazon.ca yet, has the double pack even shipped? I mean seriously, today is launch day and not a single peep on my pre-order as having gone out.
