My Mentis arrived today and it's the second most underwhelming figure I received this year out of the 110 official and 3rd party figures I got. The top spot is another MMC figure, Tortor, which arrived broken and I haven't been able to fix him since MMC customer support was not supportive at all and sent me wrong parts and snarky emails.

Mentis' size is fine. What's not fine is that he suffers from loose panels and over-articulation which actually makes him a chore to pose. He can't even ride his one major accessory, the scooter, normally. Why they felt the need to artificially blow up the price by including so many heads (when face-swap is a thing and even smaller figures sometimes feature it) and neigh-identical hands is beyond my comprehension.

This one is not worth the price of admission (about $115 shipped to me). And I kinda get why it was a PSX exclusive.

Not sure I will be preordering more MMC stuff after these last two disasters. Mnemo & Motiff are decent and Exitus was probably the best of that mold, but the only truly awesome MMC figure I got this year was Optus Pexus.

Hopefully, his secondary market value doesn't climb too much in that time.

Aww, that sucks. I was messing around with Tortor over the weekend and having a lot of fun with him. Can I ask what broke and what they gave you to repair it?

Do you have the scooter base flipped to the correct side? I made that mistake when I was first fiddling with him and I was baffled by the poor design until I realized that I had the scooter base upside down. After that, I found it posing him on the scooter to be pretty easy.

I agree that this is an underwhelming figure for $105. He should have been 80 bucks.

The left foot was broken out of the box, and the left thigh is a completely wrong part, it's actually a different design from the right thigh (almost looks like a prototype piece) and lacks articulation. They sent me a right leg in banged-up condition and said that I can disassemble the leg myself and transplant the parts. This is theoretically possible but I don't see how I could disassemble the leg without completely ruining all the screw covers, and it doesn't solve the thigh since left and right thighs are a mirror image, they are not identical.

Pretty sure I do, but can you share a photo just in case? He doesn't tab to the scooter (I can put his feet on top of the "wings" but that's far from stable), and none of his bazillion hands can firmly grip the handlebar :/

That's so frustrating. I feel for you, especially on such an expensive figure.

That’s the problem MMC is facing regarding the R line. The popularity of this figure makes them price him higher than it should be and unfortunately not every figure is a home run.

So you only got reformatted stuff from MMC this year nothing from Perfect Series, Unlimited, Infinite finity?

I got him for around $80. One of the 1st 10 to preorder so I got free shipping, can't complain. Optus nox on the other hand, I waited to long to order and didn't get free shipping.

The scooter is three parts, the front red piece with the bar, the center piece with the rotating wheel and the back piece with the fins and two wheels.

Out of the box the base of the scooter is assembled in its backpack configuration. So you need to separate the two pieces and retab them around the other way so the flat side for his feet with the tabs at the front is facing up.

Oh I made the same mistake initially too. Doesn't help the instructions make no mention of the fact the bottom pieces pull apart.

I don't know which one is worse ... getting an FT PO or trying to be one of the first few people to PO something from PSX before they can input a shipping quote :)

Has anyone tried shaving away a bit of plastic inside the wrists to make switching hands easier?

ive found it’s easy to pull the hands off, but trying to push them in is really tough. Almost breaking rung’s fingers trying to switch the hands.

I ordered form them once, took months to arrive. I stick to domestic sites now. But experiences will vary. Trust me, there's going to be like 13 posts how ten minutes after I post this to tell you just how varied those experiences are.

Depends on which shipping you chose. I paid the upcharge to get the faster shipping. Took about 2 weeks from time I got my ship notice but according to the tracking it had been shipped out about 5 days prior. So...

I don't know where you are located but I'm in Germany and it usually takes 10 days (which I consider super quick).
However, this time it took about 20 days or so.
It goes to Frankfurt, Germany first. Then it gets shipped out of Germany again to the Netherlands and back to Germany.
That is their normal procedure and like this it was always 10 days. I also never paid any import tax this way.

THIS TIME however, I waited much longer and paid 10 € import.
They declared only 20 $ value - luckily - which would translate into 4 $ tax but you pay extra fees so it ends up above 10$/10€.

I wrote them and asked if I need to expect import tax now all the time.
They (with TFsafari and TFdirect) where always tax-free for me.

PSX replied that they must declare this now and when I asked about bigger bots they said that they will also declare only 20 $ for Carnifex reissue and related sized packages.
If that's the case, I can live with it. It's a tangible number and I know what I'm facing.
But if it would vary in future, I would need to skip PSX which was my fav. MMC supplier so far.

My psx shipping times are at best 8 to 10 days and usually end up being closer to 15.

I've had a few instances over the years where they've gone over a months time though, in one case 3 months. Not sure why but whatever international service PSX uses can be pretty damn slow.

I live in the states and the tracking they provided says the package has been in Indiana since November 5th. Not sure if it got handed off to usps or what after that.
