You just gave me a great idea to lower cost. Will be less than half price when i am done i am sure, maybe as cheap as 1/4 the price!

If you do a group buy on these, figure me for a set. I don't need them. All my deathwish shoulders are fine. But I wouldn't mind having a set just in case for down the road.

I'd be down for a set if we're group buying

So i submitted a "4 up" design so far (2 lefts and 2 rights on a "tree", you will need snippers or an x acto). We will see if its approved for printing. Assuming it is i will order a set or two. After i test it and if happy i will assume anything they print on a tree is just as good as a single piece (it really should be). I will then submit multiple designs for different numbers of tree patterns and see which one is optimal for cost.

Even at the 4 up tree configuration pattern, the cost is vastly reduced and the size seemed to allow for option of yellow color in the versatile plastic via SLS process. I prefer the PA12 via multijet fusion process as it feel its stronger but assuming testing goes OK i will make that sls process versatile plastic available too.

    Anyway stay tuned.

Yellow replacements shoulders. I would be interested for sure to avoid future cracking. Damn XTB, these parts should have come with the trailer in a higher quality plastic.

I would definitely be up for those shoulders. And that backplate looks REALLY good. Very tempting indeed.

I'd be up for black shoulders in the PA12 via multijet fusion plastic just to make sure if my Overheat shoulders do ever fail that I'd have something fairly robust to replace them. Black should look just fine. That said, if a group buy got the price of the yellow shoulders down then I'd likely get both. Fortunately my XTB Overheat has held together just fine and will likely spend most of the rest of his life in combined mode.

Now getting Deadend split into two without wrecking the figure was the big challenge. That button on his waist did nothing and I eventually had to unscrew the parts to separate him into two halves. Ultimate parts-former.

Splitting them was a bit of a challenge, yes. I used a spudger and carefully wedged them loose. Did swap them around for giggles until I placed them on the trailer.

Looking at him, for all the crap XTB gets, I will say that their first attempt at a combiner is very decent. He's stable, hefty and quite poseable. I like him a lot, and I'm glad I got into this set.

I got two sets of G2 shoulder bits from XTB and I'd still be in for a set because who knows.

    Meanwhile at the chosen prime

I’d be interested in replacement shoulders for Dragstrip.

For all the shit the trailer's transformation has been given (including, I think, by me), I would just like to say that I transformed it from Base mode into Robot (Menasor) mode last night, without instructions. It wasn't necessarily "fun", but it wasn't torture either. Maybe my brain is just wired funny.

I have no doubt that having transformed it before helped a lot, as I knew to look out for a few things and also be very careful with the waist connector (which has always concerned me, as there is a lot of weight either side of a relatively thin sheet of plastic with lots of holes). And it was very satisfying seeing it come together.

Overly complex? Yes. As painful as I remember it from the first time? Not at all.

Interesting. I've noticed Terry has been first to get the gigapower dinobot reissues, maybe they're first for these as well. Fingers crossed Deadend is getting reissued finally.
