Aaaand my doubts about NOT getting this are gone. Beautiful piece, congrats to those who are happy with their purchase. Condolences to those who are not: really hope e-tailers and PX follow through helping y'all out.

Ahh, I missed it. That's what I get for posting when I'm half asleep. Thanks, I'll pick some up at the weekend and give it a go.

Unfortunately, seen that before, both from Hasbro releases, and 3P. It's especially frustrating because even if you "fix it" the marring usually can't be fixed. Get's even worse when it's on a pin that can only be inserted/removed from one side; you're either digging it out of plastic, or punching it through the side it wasn't meant to come out. Don't know what sort of tools the assemblers are using to quickly insert some pins, but it's definitely more than just a small set of pliers on some of these.

I got mine yesterday. What a hefty boi! Fortunately I seem to have lucked out on the QC roulette - everything is as tight as it ought to be. Glad I bought it in the end.

    PROS
    - Great articulation in both modes.
    - Shedloads of presence. Not just size, but also form. The figure could be 10cm tall and still look completely vicious.
    - Robot mode is solid, and doesn't have the problem that Vulcun did where the dino head just sort of flaps about on the robot back.
    - A much better tail transformation solution than Vulcun.
    - The plastic feels sturdy, and unlike the previous two PX figures I've owned (first release editions of Mors and Vulcun) there's no squeaky joints.

    CONS
    - The gun is perhaps a bit bland, and Cacus doesn't hold it very well.
    - The figure is a bit difficult to balance on two legs without using the tail for support. It's not impossible at all, but it's not as easy as other t-rex alt mode figures like PX Vulcun or Kingdom Megatron. It requires more finagling than simply plonking it down, which to be fair is partially a product simply of how heavy the toy is.
    - At the second time of asking PX haven't quite nailed a robot leg to t-rex back transformation. Vulcun's has the tail mounted on bendy arms that I'm so sure are just going to snap one day, and now Cacus has everything be a tightly folding hodge podge. To be fair I've only converted the figure twice and I'm sure it will feel intuitive with time, but at first blush it's not fantastic.

got mine about an hour ago. not gonna transform it til tomorrow probably, wanna shock oil the joints a little bit. first impressions as far as robot mode goes:

-tight joints, almost way too tight. planet x's plastic is sturdy so hopefully mine doesn't snap anything over time
-articulation is fantastic but the way the ab side-to-side works with the ab crunch takes some getting used to
-my qc issues are small but annoying issues. the bottom set of pegs to tab his back plate into his back is slightly too wide so i have to force a peg into a hole, and both modes' right hands have a finger that rubs knuckles with the one next to, like the hand is too small for the fingers
-big and hefty, but i could've used one 25% bigger lol

I'm just going to point out here that Vulcun's tail transformation isn't as tricky or parts-bendy as people make it out to be. It's only an issue because people are accustomed to thinking symmetrically. But for the tail half that people seem to have issues with, what you do is twist the waist 90 degrees, and then the tail armature sails clear over the top of the hip, with no bending of the armature required.

ok, what am i doing wrong here? the dino torso, hips, back plate and tail refuse to all come together cohesively or tab together at all. there's a random lever with a peg on it that seems like it goes into the hole on the buttflaps' armature, but it only gets in the way up or down and unless i'm missing something glwringly obvious the chest doesn't compress or anything so i can't figure out why his entire lower dinosaur body is 1/2 inch behind where it should be. i took off one of the buttflaps to show how i have stuff arranged in there

Congrats on your Cacus! I have this issue with mine, it's fairly harmless. I just sort of pinched in the part a little to get both to line up and go in. Which was how it was to begin with until I popped it out while fiddling with things.

yeah, that scares me long term though, hopefully it doesn't strain anything too bad

finally got him into dinosaur mode. man that transformation does not fuck around, trying to get the tail/legs settled will be the kind of thing you'll probably need to do a lot to remember the proper way.

Only one does that. The other side (with less joints) I cannot for the life of me finagle into a position where it doesn't crash into something on conversion.

Edit: though to be clear it's not just the actual mechanical conversion that I mean. Vulcun's left leg (the one with the half slot for the tab) doesn't lock together particularly firmly.

his leg-to-arm transformation is very much gcreation grimlock's as far as relocating the robot shoulders into the dino thighs. unlike gcreations it doesn't feel like it'll tear the toy apart tho @HappyCryCat lol

Looks like my copy will arrive this week. I live in the Bay Area, and the package is already somewhere around LA. Man very impressed with ShowZ's shipping.

Gonna disagree, I do exactly like you say and it's still not smooth, and still requires slight bending, but far less than other methods

He does have his flaws, but despite them I'm still very much in love with this Grimlock :)

Wow, I just got my copy from ShowZ, and the box looks as if someone has taken a huge hammer to it. One side of the box is completely ripped and the clamshell is in a pretty smashed condition. I think ShowZ must have used a rail gun to send my package over.
