I don’t know if this warrants its own thread, but it didn’t actually come out during pulsecon, rather just recently. I figured it was best to report just in case.

Announced during PulseCon, the devastation soundtrack is available for streaming now on Spotify, Amazon Music, or wherever you listen to music from.

Damn, it’s missing the good tracks. I’d have loved to have gotten this if it had Blitzwing or Soundwave or any of the boss themes, but eh I guess I’ll pass.

 

Massive letdown that after all this time it’s only a small sample of the soundtrack and none of the good ones?

I’m assuming that means Vince Dicola didn’t do those and they were all done in house by Platinum’s people?

 

I like the main theme to the game, but I really wish they would’ve included some of the boss themes as well.

 

Just the music from the cutscenes and none of the songs people actually wanted like the boss themes :/

What's the deal?

Yes those were done by Platinum's composers(one of them also did the music for Astral Chain). Don't know who's supposed to decide who's call it is or why it's not included

I'm certain none of the tracks you listened to were in this effort. The boss tracks are absent. I don't know who this is for.

 

Man I wish this game could get a re-release. Games being delisted is something I always knew would become a thing once physical media died and while I do have a copy still, digging out old hardware I don't otherwise play anymore is a pain. I really wish there could be some form of industry-wide, mutually agreed upon preservation effort. Companies could make so much money via subscription services for their back catalog. Hell even cloud, while not ideal, would be better than nothing. And in theory would get around problems with backwards compatibility since they could have dedicated servers for hardware.

 

Where is my damn Devestation sequal?!

With coop, death match, faction select, and every season 1 G1 character .

Every now and then the wound reopens when I realize the sequel is never happening.

Seriously, they left out all the good tracks.

 

Everyone's hoping for a sequel, but hardly do any Platinum games get sequels (outside of Bayonetta cause Nintendo). MGR:R never got one too outside of some backstory DLC with Sam and Wolf cause of Konami's incompetence of doing Metal Gear Survive instead, Nier Automata has a sequel but not developed by Platinum, and of course Devastation hasn't got a sequel cause of rights. Just saying, it most likely won't happen.

 

Never gonna happen and Platinum is busy with Bayonetta 3 anyway.
