Gents i'd like to archive all models, toys and toy lines that are compatible with 1/60 scale action figures (including but not limited to Diaclone Reboot Dianauts). If you have some knowledge to share regarding toylines from decades past or the present please occasionally share that knowledge here: 1/60 scale compatible toys & toylines (MFT, RiHio, Diaclone etc.)
Correction, it should be 'slightly smaller than Battle Convoy' I can see you have DiaBattles and Warudaros mold, you should go for DA-80 BPGV
Woo-Hoo! My Dragos and Ghouls just arrived! Unfortunately, my next few days and nights are full, but this weekend should be fun.
So, TCP shipped my Ripper on the 9th. It was initially scheduled to today (Tues. the 16th) but started out pretty speedy & was rescheduled for Sat. the 13th. "Awesome" I thought but Sat. came and went with no delivery. Sunday & most of Monday offered no updated until late Mon. evening when it reappeared in Plain City, OH and was rescheduled for Wednesday the 17th. The most exciting part of it's journey happened this morning as it departed Plain City, OH at 6:45am and arrived in Columbus, OH at 6:53pm - they're only 25 miles apart!!! 25 miles in 12 hours?!??? No wonder it's late!
All of my packages have been doing weird things in OH recently. I had one come as far to the east as Pittsburgh, only to go back to OH before coming to me in WV.
Guys, what’s your opinion on Battle Buffalo? 2 import store owners told me it had QC issues and some had missing parts. I’m thinking of buying one from a fellow collector in my country but if it’s missing parts…I’m screwed right? Thanks for the clarification! Hmmm, I think I’ll just sit on it for awhile. As for the upcoming DA-80…tbh I don’t quite like the drills on the shoulders. Look too super Sentai (Power Rangers for me - and I like PR). I’m kicking myself for not picking up the original BP (didn’t like the unarticulated fingers). I like the Destroyer but I don’t want to drop $ on it as I’m worried of buying it on impulse…a serious problem for me! Can you provide feedback? I almost bought it yesterday! It’s DA-75 + DA-76 but I saw pics of the dragon head sticking out from behind the new form: which looks bad ass IMO. Earliest I can sight the figure in person is on Sunday where I can visit a fellow collector’s house.
It’s one of my top favorites of the line. I only have one but I’d love to have the moon version too, and I’d happily buy a few more. I hope they make an updated one with Vers compatibility, like they’re doing with Big Powered.
Hmmm, good point I don’t know if I should hold out but I really dig the colours on first release. I think the Moon version is cool but I’m vary of white figures…they will be yellowed due the climate in my country!
I agree with @Xaxis and @TogeAtama. Of the larger mecha of the line, Buffalo is my favorite by far. I like all the parts and the large mecha does a great job mixing vintage and modern aesthetics. The poseability of the mecha is great and how they combine is very satisfying. Unlike some of the others, all 3 pilots feel like they are necessary to pilot it in final configuration. My older photos... There have been some complaints about the "claw" parts, but the only 'issue' I've had is you have to be gentle and line them up just right to open forearms to get out/put away fists. Once you've done this a few times, it is easy, though. I will say I bought a broken one cheap that the prior owner had an arm peg shear off. The seller received very little interest on these threads and eBay because it was broken and I was one of the only bidders. (There may be a fix possible, but I wanted one to leave in cargo truck mode to transport six Maneuver Suit raid chambers, so I was looking a cheap truck half.) My older photo... As with any toy you buy that isn't a current release and/or from a non-retailer, you don't have any recourse if it is faulty. If you break a toy, generally, that's on you. Note: That does make me want to issue a reminder to everyone in the northern hemisphere, now that colder weather has started in some places... Never open and rush to play with toys received when it is very cold. Allow them to naturally reach room temperature. Cold plastic is brittle. If a joint feels stuck, DON'T force it and especially DON'T twist to insert/remove pegs. They can shear off. Use a hair dryer to warm parts to soften the plastic if it seams stuck. I've had to learn this the hard way with different toys over the years. Let my mistakes save you heartbreak.
It's interesting that you posted this today as i received something hours ago that i'd been looking forward to for some time. My first instinct was to open the package but my 2nd thought was potential breakage due to extreme cold. It's been sitting under a heat vent for hours now....
Good point. And to that point, a hair dryer and a heat gun are two very different things. If the heat is too much for your bare skin, it is too much for a toy! And heating should be gradual. Things generally expand when heated and contract when cold... Keep that in mind when deciding what parts to warm.
Terrific and timely advice to be sure. I had my one and only breakage on a Diaclone (waruder suit claw) happen because of this a year or so ago. I’m going to be very careful this year. Also, it’s funny about Battle Buffalo - when I first got into the line I was totally not interested in it at all aesthetically. But having it in hand it might be my favorite of the bunch. There’s something about it’s personality that just comes through!
I got the Moon version, love it to death Black Battle Buffalo 'issue' was the too-thin plastic, seems a bit better with white / moon version. So just be careful with it if you're buying it The shoulder drills are optional any parts I don't like with a Reboot mecha, I'll just give it to others. And DA-80 fixed the leg/knee issue of the mold, with improved leg articulation to boot.
@LigerPrime Battle/Striker Buffalo was the mech design that actually got me to step foot into the Diaclone arena... the announcement animation they did with that and the Gamma "extermination" squads were just soo epic. I liked that it was (prior to VERS) the most modular their mecha had been (and wasn't the 'crazy' prices that BP was). After getting Buffalo and my Gammas... I caved and got BP Destroyer easily the best purchase I've ever made in a toy. The Red Lighting Dia Battles re-issue along with it's Cosmo Manuvers add-on are pretty sweet too... but just not quite as magical as the other two mentioned. Also the Taurus (Buffalo's head) is probably the most charismatic (oddly enough) of all the Power Suit series... I'm shocked it took... years.... to finally get it re-issued. For what it's worth, several of the add-on/suit releases will provide all the upgrade parts (besides the unique head) that BP Destroyer comes with. Granted between the two to three sets... you could have just but a Destroyer but at least you'll get six suits, a bunch of add-on parts, and VERS compatibility. The other sets specifically are DA-81 fpr the shoulder/cannons DA-70 (optional for the Land Battle Cruiser's unique cannon/turrets plus buffalos mini cannons), DA-64 for the arms to replace the drills, and alternative I'm still not sure I'm happy with the knees on DA-80, but they're still an improvement, and given the modular nature... don't think I could come up with a better alternative.
