does anyone know how to take apart and/or remove the bot head? i'm not a fan of the all red face/head and would like to paint the face and/or helmet.

All that matters is they get released (in the same G1 style as SS86 Grimlock and Slag).

Does the packaging matter on bit? :p :p

Just introduce a nive in the base of the head, both sides and carefully separate one side and then the other, one step at the time.

thx! i had a feeling the front/rear halves should come apart but wasn't sure how they were held together, be it friction or tabs. but from your pics it looks like it's glue that holds it together?

did some photoshop edits to see which colour(s) i want to go with. :)

i think i'll go with the first one and just paint the face grey/silver first and see how i like it, and if i still don't like the red, i'll prob paint the helmet black like in the third.

Can anyone suggest any good paint color matches for the metallic grey plastic these guys are primarily made of?
I want to repaint my Power of the Primes Slash to better match the SS86 figures.
I'm also going to try making some custom transforming versions of Grimstone's drones, so I'd like to color match them too.
I know someone already mentioned Testor's Pearl Gold is a 100% match.
Oh, and a match for the blue used in the eyes, too.
Hell, suggestions for any or all of the colors would be greatly appreciated!

I think the gundam marker gray is right but not metallic. In my case I decided to change color to silver chrome.

If Chrome if your jam, just wait for the inevitable toy-accurate releases. I’m sure they’ll be covered in chrome with clear parts.

May I know how long it took your Gundam marker paint to dry?

Mine took like a week before it adhered to the plastic! No joke! In fact I actually forgot that I had painted the part! LOL!

Wow, too much, I don't paint with markers anymore but last time I let it dry like one hour, now I paint with spray paint and depends on weather takes from 20 minutes to 1 hour, I live in Costa Rica so temperature never goes down 15 degrees in the valley.

That "black helmet, red face" version is a pretty interesting look for Slag, even if it's not accurate to anything I'm aware of.

Thanks for the reply! So after 1 hour it was ok to handle the part painted with the Gundam marker? For me, it didn’t cure or dry after 2-3 hrs. It was a frustrating experience for me! LOL!

HATED HATED HATED the red face - 1st thing I did was pop off the head, open it up and then use a Black Gundam Marker to go over the red
I don't know what it was about the red, but I couldn't stand it and am now happy(ish) with the figure. Not 100% happy with the silver marker that I used on the horns, collar, weapon vents on the body wings and tail (gun), however again 1000% better than that AWFUL cream coloured plastic.
Thinking to spray with a more metallic silver paint, but not sure if I can be bothered.
Printed fillers for the legs that keep the dino legs out on the lower legs and I like that.
Want some suitable fillers for the feet etc - I know you can buy them as a kit, however will model them myself in fusion360 rather than spend the money involved in an upgrade set
