Do I get this right, I could get the cab robot without the trailer?

 

Right. The cab and trailer are 2 pieces selling independently.

 

Went back to google what FB counterpart looks like...Errrr...
But there are people just prefer mp 03 than 52, so good for them.

 

The cab looks a bit out of proportion to me. Just a bit too big. I do like the base mode.

 

I'll be honest, not really a fan. Assume the windows are because it's a hand painted sample, but everything about this looks sub par. Price doesn't help either.

 

Wow, that looks... not great? I know I always refer to my figures as toys rather than premium collectible figures or whatever but damn, that thing looks like a toy. Some of that can be attributed to it being a 3d printed prototype: opaque windows (we can see they're a separate piece so it's likely they'll be clear or maybe even swappable), no chrome. But still, it just looks like a toy. Power Baser did too but he was $200 for the bot and trailer. This guy is $200 for just the trailer and $150 for the bot (at least last I checked). Those super skinny shoulder guns? What's up with that?

And that damned truck face on his back. I fucking hate that aspect of the design (it's on Power Baser as well and I hate it there too) and I blame the Japanese cartoon for including it. What a stupid decision! The toy used a false chest to get a more accurate look than could be achieved with 1988 engineering and the cartoonists couldn't figure that out?!

Yeah, I'll wait for somebody to actually do Powermaster Optimus - preferably the Marvel version - this is clearly Ginrai and it just looks bad.

Ok, sorry for the rant. I realize a lot of you like the weirdness that is master god force and I'm happy for you getting a figure you want. But they just couldn't have made a PMOp that was any less for me if they tried.

I'd rather have a CHUG scale … hopefully Haslabs will do that after Star Saber … but this is my favorite part. Awesome reference to the Marvel Transformers comic.

 

Something is off about the combined mode.

 

Little bot looks great, large one looks to copy the toy but lacks the girth of it. I will go back to my cave and wait for the perfect PMOP.

 

Is the trailer not going to be fully painted? The red of Super Mode looks cheap next to the red of the truck cab. I do have other complaints (snow shoes, the super mode ankles, core robot chest look, the wheels, etc), but that is the one that really jumps out at me.

 

It looks really bland to me? Like it looks like an initial design pass without finishing refinement done to it.

 

Why is it so damn hard for any company to do a decent super mode for this guy?

 

Not trying to hate, I like the XTB Magnus, Kup and Springer but this and the Galvatron just don't look like anything I'd even want, even at a good price.

 

Because it's an awkward design that has a lot of proportional and artistic interpretations, not to mention a fanbase that can't agree on what a perfect or even a, to use your term, decent super mode actually is.

 

The long smokestacks bug me the most, which is funny because on any other Optimus Prime toy, they’d be a good thing.

 

At this point, I'm waiting for Hasbro to do a Commander class PPOP. Probably gonna happen one of these days.

 

I like him just fine, but probably going to wait for the Nemesis version.

 

The small robot and truck is OK but that combined mode is just... crap.
I really don't care about third party at this point, we live in a world where Legacy Laser Prime exists as well as 2 versions of a trailer-combining Ultra Magnus, so honestly, I can wait a few years for the likely far better looking Hasbro version that will happen inevitably. Until then the TR toy is good enough for me.

Me, too. But others as well, many times. I am guessing they called their company that on purpose.
And oddly, they have yet to make a chicken transformer.

 

My main takeaway from this is:

Chinese Coca Cola cans look fucking badass and I want one just for display even though I quit soda.
